Blender 4.2 Is Here - A Revolution…For Free!

This video sounds more like an promotional video than a useful summary of a interesting research paper. I'd rather learn more about blue noise for example than an overenthusiastic listing of every new feature in an established graphics package (as much as love Blender). I get the pressure of having a popular channel and trying to keep it constantly fresh whilst retaining the key distinctive elements that made it popular in the first place. But this post comes across, to me, like paid promotion sprinkled with endless catch phrases. Sorry to be negative I know these videos take a lot of work - I make them with the best intention and thanks for all your posts so far.

Eevee is great, but it's not close to cycles in a lot of scenarios.

I just downloaded it and holy cow it was impressive!! Even for my slow computer. In fact, it actually worked better than 4.1. It haven’t crashed a single time yet!

Blender should add AI renderer next to eevee and cycles.
With prompt to describe style you want your scene to be rendered.
Think this would be best use of AI in blender.

If those LLM companies want to do something new, they can do this.

-- allow a user to upload a .blend file
-- have conversations with it about that blend file, such as objects to create/edit, animations that you would like created or adjusted, creaete all the animation rigs for easier animating, have a certain type of particles start emitting from an emitter at a certain frame, setup all your physics for you, create all the materials, etc.
-- this is the challenge I put to them. Have their system update the blend file. It doesn't even need to show us the results. Just update the file as requested.
-- text-to-grease-pencil is a bonus

This is how you do a software.... You make your user so satisfied that they're willing to donate to support and keep the service running. Unlike a certain company cough adobe cough that puts a price on everything, even canceling a subscription plan.

probably the only thing thats still missing is actual simulated bloom for eevee and cycles

I love Blender, though I never use it for anything complex. Just low poly modeling for my games.

I'd like to see them put more effort into making the UI make sense.
