The world is full of walking idiots. As I baby boomer I like my tunes. 2012 if memory serves me I had a Sony NWZE463BLUE Walkman MP3 Player, ear plugs in walking to the tunes. Sony Mp3 failure left me with no tunes. In the 2014 time never had a cell phone, but I had a "BRITE" idea, ask the nephew "Have you got an extra cell phone. Answer: yes daughter has upgraded from an I-fone- 4 to..... xx I-fone. Yes I said I only need it for an MP3 player.
Used the I phone 4 for several years as MP3 in combination with the ear plugs, until I contracted tinnitus, and blamed the use of the music entry to my hearing canal thru the ear plugs.
That diagnosis probably is not the case.
To make along story short I currently have a Ifone 5 I use for strictly TUNES , and in 2021 acquired an I-fone 8 finally dictated to cell phone use.
You will meet me walking in the crowd with my TUNES in pocket with no ear plugs, and constantly being told "Your fone is ringing".......No those are my TUNES I say.

I find it funny that nobody gives the Sony Xperia any credit about the headphone jack. I currently own the Xperia 1 MK III and absolutely love this thing. And it's a flagship. While Apple, Samsung and Google has removed the headphone jack and sd card slot (Samsung), Sony brought back the headphone jack after seeing what everybody else is doing and still have the sd card slot. After the Xperia 1 MK 1, they brought back the headphone jack on the MK II models and moving forward. I've owned both the Xperia XZ 2, XZ 3 and while they are good phones, I hated the dongle. I alway lose it. Just my imo.........

For me, never ever wireless or bluetooth audio. Wired all the time.

I still like the headphone jack because when you are travelling and using the phone for music or audiobooks your bluetooth headphone might just run out of power which is frustrating..

I quit using iPhones and Apple products after the iPhone 4.

It's only premium if the phone requires you to buy something that used to be included. By 2050 the screen will be separate because Iphone normalized having their devices transmit images straight into your brain or retina & a screen is only if you want to show someone something.

Newer cheaper Samsung phones has headphone jacks even game controllers & PC’s still has headphone jacks.

I would not even consider a audio device that does not have headphone jack. I would go lite or dumb phone if I am forced.

Motorola phones have lack of software and technical supports. They don't work right and they have never been working right. There are lot of flaws on the apps and problems with hardware too.

I don't understand the arguments for ditching the headphone jack. If you are lisening to music no really good headphone exist without a jack. You can get pretty serious studio quality wired headphones for $200 or 300. You can get better quality than any ear bud for 50. The wireless offering lacks high quality options. On top of that latency on BT headsets is still way to big if you are making music with your portable device. Space saving is not an argument you can definitly fit the port. Waterproofing is not an argument, I got tons of ip68 devices with 3.5mm jack. The convinient of having no wires is definitly there. But you can have BT and a jack, like it still exists on tons of devices.

I don't miss wired headphones what I miss is the absence of micro-SD cards. Obviously, they want consumers to have storage crunch and pay for cloud subscription and it seems to be working.

forget the ipod. it was walkman that truly set the standard for small audio output jacks

2011 CR-Z owner here. Car is not too powerful… Yes, it’s only 110HP. But… it is one of the best hatchbacks for commuting and very very reliable. I only had to replace common wear and tear parts after 120K miles. IMA battery still running great at 140K miles. As long as you keep up to date on your regular maintenance, this car is a beast. I love it and plan to drive this car for a while!

What’s really inconvenient is when you would like to use your Fiio headphone, amplifier jack to pump up the volume and now it’s got to go through all these distortion dongle’s just to get there

iPhone was just too smart, as a result, Motorola and Nokia ended up quickly losing the war.

There are IP67 rated waterproof phones with a headphone jack and removable battery. For example the Galaxy S5. So waterproofing is not a good excuse for removing the jack.

God I wish the headphone jack would come back on the iPhone.. I still use my iPhone 6s because it has the headphone jack. Good thing it’s still supported by apple and all apps. It’s not slow either. Highly recommend if you want an iPhone with a headphone jack.

Hearing them say the removal of the headphone jack helped Apple get its water resistant rating is BS these are the same people that conveniently forget that we had phones with removable backs that were also water resistant
