Is wearing retainer forever use?

Thank you for posting your videos. I decided to get Invisalign about two weeks ago and have to wear them for 22 weeks. One of the unintended good things of me wearing them is I am more careful about what I have been eating, so I have avoided bread (including pizza), nuts, coffee, hot tea (I let it cool off considerably before drinking it), I drink soda on occasion, I stopped eating potato chips or any crunchy snacks like that, no candy bars at all, and only occasional red meat (I just bought a meat grinder so I can have still enjoy steaks, just burger style), and I have dropped 6-7 pounds in 11 days. I take the Invisaligns out anytime I eat anything except for drinking cool water. I don't enjoy eating food as much because I can't bite down like I normally do so it's salads, fruit, protein shakes, I juice my fruit and veggies as well immediately rinsing and brushing after, I also floss daily. The gap between my two front teeth is about 1/8 inch and am hopeful that it will be completely closed when I'm done, as well as my bottom teeth being straighter. I'm taking pics and video as well, not as thorough as you have been doing but will likely post a video after it's all been done.

A lot of people say that I look good in braces plus they don’t really hurt.

1. ADULTS DO NOT MOVE YOUR TEETH. it's not advisable to consider Invisalign or any type of braces for adults. Invisalign’s ad. Is full of misleading, some regulations are rather than unprofessional and even harm to the teeth treatment. They are just manufacture and they don’t have a professional procedure of assessing and training dentists and orthodontist who are using their products….Can’t imagine how many people’s teeth were ruined by them.

2. These treatments could be seen as harmful and should be considered as anti-humanity and against the law of nature. The reality is that when you begin to reposition your teeth, each tooth shifts its position, and this process involves detaching the gums. This detachment can lead to a condition called "gum recession," which can make your teeth appear significantly older, potentially aging them by 10-20 years. They also had to remove part of the enamel or polish your teeth. One of my orthodontists once noted, " It is unrealistic to expect no change in gum height or gum appearance, even given the very successful alignment achieved." This is when and how teeth and gum sensitivity, soreness, and loosening can start. Once you begin this process, your teeth will never be as stable as they were before. You might even experience feelings of distress because your teeth may feel loose ever after…. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid moving your teeth. Just love yourself and love your teeth, as teeth is mainly for functional purpose, just be confident and love yourself and love whatever your teeth look like. NO Bother!
3. 99% people underestimate the complexity of Invisalign or braces treatment (consider the years of study required for orthodontists). Not all orthodontists mention that you may need to wear a lifelong wire retainer or a clear retainer (change every 6 months &$400 per). Can you imagine the having to attach that wire to your teeth for the rest of your life? It's because each tooth has its own tendencies(its personality), and they may shift back after the without the retainer.
4. Too many uncertainties: you could never predict your teeth condition until after the treatment, factors like lifelong teeth sensitivities, periodontics issue, adapt new teeth position, new bite issue, 100% gum detach (recession) OR black triangle, teeth instability, speech issues, change of lip shapes and facial structure, even depression if you have higher expectation.

Since you have to wear forever does dentist give you Invisalign number / info in case you need more trays later in life?

In USA pick the high dental plan(insurance pays 50%).
This works…tray 16 now and it’s crazy
Problems- first few trays I had to bite end of toothbrush to smash it in(didn’t receive a chewy)
Going out to eat how to brush was my biggest problem

Another gastos na naman host, pero sulit man pud😊

I had the metals one in middle school I now have invislines let me say is far better. It's only tension. Metals it hurt each time they tighten them.

my teeth look a lot like yours so you give me hope. I am considering getting them too but I am 46. I too had braces for 4 years as a child but you cannot tell my teeth are crowded and I have a crossbite. I am most concerned about gum recession and erosions from my cross bite. I never really liked by teeth but I already came to terms with it until my dentist told me it is affecting my teeth too. I hope I have as good of a result as you did! your teeth look amazing! Just started mine a few days ago. I'm not all for cosmetics when it comes to my teeth, but my wisdom teeth caused crowding before getting them extracted, so not only was flossing was a nightmare, the plaque would build up in the back of my lower incisors when I don't bother to brush (ADHD and all that), so at times, they had to numb me a bit for deep cleaning down there. Even though I enjoy deep cleaning at times like a good massage, it gets pretty expensive, and my dentist often chided me like a disappointed father, which can get pretty annoying at times. Main reason I wanted Invisalign is so I can floss properly without any grief.

So I expected the slight discomfort associated with the trays (jacksepticeye mentioned that in one of his past videos), and i figured the sharp edges would be problematic in cutting into parts of the mouth (the mouth is quite resilient when it comes to mild tissue damage, but I have seen ski accidents when lups or tongues get cut)...

But I didn't realize I would need to have nighttime retainers afterwards for the rest of my life 😭

Ah, well, them's the breaks, I guess. But thank you for this info. Good to know that I was thinking the same thing with the edges cutting up the insides of my mouth 😆

Not only do your teeth look incredible but your jawline is much more masculine. But that could also be due to the weight loss or a combination. Either way you are looking smashing.
