This is a great sim but I like IL-2 Cliffs of Dover/ Desert Wings Tobruk even more. It is a different game engine based on the Oleg Maddox original

Thing about these games is there is no pvp. War thunder hits that spot for me il2 is boring

it may be a great simulator, but it's a DLC based game, so it's an instant turn off for me

A bit of a bitch about it, sorry, but IL is most likely read as "eel" and not "isle" due to the fact the actual full name of the plane comes from a russian name Ilyushin

Will this run on Windows 10?

DCS is too hard to deploy weapons. You have to be a weapons expert to deploy bombs and do anything like for example in the A10-C. People will say, WOW look at this and then 1 month later when they forgot all they learned and have constructed huge cheat-sheet encyclopedias on all the tips tricks and procedures , they get frustrated and let their SIM-PIT just sit there and collect dust. Trust me , I know 30 people to who this happened to. We all just need something easier to jump into, bind our HOTAS and start shooting (so that we can take out our frustration on this horrible economy and sky-rocketing inflation while we watch our 401K's plummet into the molten core of the earth) on something virtual. Since DCS is not the answer (too complicated and too hard to join a server), then tell me which combat sim am I going to like best of ALL the combat sims on the planet? (irrespective of cost)

The big problem with this game is my joystick doesn't work, its the only flight sim it will not work give it a miss

I've played IL sturm on a TV channel and it's OK but looks like graphics are still lame ww1 no trenches no mud etc .

The biggest problem with this game is the barrel roll too fast ! It's like a toy!!

War Thunder cheats all the time, and don't believe what they tell you in school.

I JUST MADE AN IR TRACKING SYSTEM FROM USING ONE OF THOSE CLIP ON BATTERY LED BIKE LIGHTS, I JUST REMOVED THE LEDS AND EXTENDED THE WIRES THEN REPLACED THE LEDS WITH IR LEDS, CAMERAS JUST AN OLD LAPTOP INTERNAL CAMERA I REMOVED AND WIRED TO USB. SORRY 4 SHOUTING LOL MY CAP[S IS STUCK : ( P.S DONT FORGEET TO LOOK AT THE PDF WWII FLIGHT MANUALS IN THE GAME FOLDERS.

but i dont wanna learn! 😠 but I did pick this up for 7$ today on steam...Can it pull me away from War Thunder? Looks almost like WT....btw I still cannot get over that people use to actually do this in real life...and death....dammit that was hardcore!

This would make a great ww2 sim for Xbox. With all the military aircraft in mfs2020 it makes you wonder if a dogfighting theatre will be developed....time will tell..........8)

Played it for almost 7 years, didn't have multiplayer- we had to use a software called hyperlobby... Stopped at Cliffs of dover, was very buggy at that time

I have IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 I bought from steam. I cannot get the controller to work with take off. I end up having my plane roll to one side and crash

Remember when IL2 had like 500 planes..

I agree that IL2 is the best WW2 flight sim, the platform is continuously being updated and is truly excellent.

War Thunder only covers the major countries that took part in WW2

Ahhh I'll stick with IL 1946, I didn't have to pay $50/plane with that one.

Thanks. I like what I see and I’ve been waiting to get this because I’d have to buy a PC system. If I buy the PC system I’d feel obligated to get a flight sim joystick set up. But I do think it’s time. Thanks again

Sounds kind of “pay to play” for everything in it. Although War Thunder is free, it is almost the same except for the physics.

Good reporting will a 16GB computer be sufficient? None of the instruments are click able? I'm definitely into WW2 and Korean ERA theaters. Thanks alot

Now I know what seems odd to me: The sound does not seem to be right! The motors of those planes should be louder and more pronounced.
