I’m not recalling if I liked this song back in the day but now I’m older it reminds of how wonderful the cheesiness of the 80’s was to live through. Also puts me in mind of Queen’s “Body Language,” which sorry, not sorry, I like to bop around to sometimes in the car or in my living room. Who cares? Have a good time!

As a Canadian who was in her late teens and 20's in the 80's, this is THE quintessential 80's song and video. This is how we spent our summer nights, everybody just cruising the streets, in car or on foot, and meeting up with whoever we met up with. Aaah, memories!! ❤

Not to be a male negative nancy on this one, but I've never liked this song along with Tough Enough and Fire from this album. Half the album for me is quintessential PB at their best, while the other half reaks of trying too hard to fit into the changing musical landscape of this particular period. PB is at its core a New Wave band. This is what they do better than anyone.

Man I love Platinum Blonde. Standing in the Dark is one of my favourite albums. But this stuff sucks. As soon as they tried to go full American mainstream they're music got dumb. Sounds like a Pepsi commercial honestly after listeing to standing in th Dark. Same thing happened to Metallica and U2. Once the media starts controlling the music it's all downhill from there.

I did see PB in concert and loved their earlier albums, but this really was a moment where they lost the plot, and tried to be something they were not... I remember Parachute Club did the same thing too, trying to appeal to the Americans by having a more marketable sound, and maybe other Canadian bands did that too. It was almost a necessity to do so because Canada isn't a huge market and is expensive to tour and promote, and lacks a strong star making industry. Canadian bands basically went into debt to get a gold record and professional slavery was always lurking in the back of everything. If only PB went a bit more underground with their sound and image, and embraced more technology things would have been different... still, for a brief moment they were the Beatles of Canada and are still cherished by many including myself even after all these years... the excitement was palpable. Thanks guys hope you are doing well.
