Owned an F10 M5 and an E39 M5 for approx 4 - 5 years each - both brilliant cars and sorely missed (particularly my E39 which brought both my newborn kids back from the hospital). This new M5 comp sounds superb, but it is outrageously expensive in Europe and large parts of Asia

I see the 2021 BMW M5 and the 2021 Mercedes Benz AMG E63 like this; The M5 as a business man in a high end suit with tie and Florsheim polished dress shoes. The E63 as a man wearing dress pants, high end dress jacket (minus tie) and Florsheim sport style, low gloss shoes. Both appear upper class, say Harvard or Yale, with the former holding a law degree and the latter a degree in medicine or dentistry.

The E63s still my choice. The interior in E63s looks like million dollar car especially the big 12.4 duel display embedded in the dash. The BMW display looks the same as 2008 C class display. Merc AMG design and finish is much better than BMW.
