I don't understand what is so funny in the end. Why is he silent after the password is revealed? What's wrong with the password? Why are there suddenly other people on the mic?
Also, I don't really understand what linux did in this case. You could have changed your password the same way on windows couldn't you?

I would have told him I have a windows laptop, then string him along when he asks the version say version X, he would think windows 10 and so-on. Eventually realizing you use xwindows and it's linux and get him so angry.

If the scammer can persuade the victim to install Teamviewer (or equivalent), which is available for Linux and Mac as well as Windows, then no OS is secure. What makes any OS safe for scambaiting is that it should be running in a virtual machine or a dedicated honeypot PC. However, a Linux user is likely to be more tech savvy than the average Windows user, so scammers will probably give up on them quickly anyway.

Funny how the scammer says Linux is insecure ("open") while in the next breath he is saying you must find a Windows machine to enable him to scam you.
