Hi Curtis, i have an h1n and i want to connect two smartlav+ to it for an interview. Is it possible? Would you recommend that for a low budget interview setup?
ОтветитьCurtis, I am a bit confused. I have iphone I use with a dji gimbal. I have a rode lav and H1. Do i plug in lav into input on zoom. Then output goes into iphone?. If so, does zoom become the audio automatically. And again if so, is there a major difference in quality by just plugging lav mic directly into iphone
ОтветитьHey curtis, is there a real difference between recording with smartlav + zoom H1 and smartlav+ + random phone ?
ОтветитьThis is strange. I tried this with the Zoom H6, and I did not manage to get any sound...
ОтветитьThank you, this was very helpful and clear :)
ОтветитьExactly what I needed, I was trying to figure out why my lav mic wouldn't work with the zoom and you solved my issue immediately. Thanks!
ОтветитьIt seems that every time I research microphones online, in the end, I get the answers I need from your videos :) Nice!
One questions though (and it's a general one):
Say you have a Lav mic - is it better to connect it to a recorder over a smartphone?
Do recorders generally make the sound any better? Or do smartphones make the quality somehow worse?
Great explanation, Can you please tell me connect to connect ZoomH1n and Boya BY M1 lav mic to my smart phone so that I can record Audio and Video in together.
ОтветитьHi, I have the Zoom H1. Can this be used with an iPhone (for video recordings) instead of a lavalier mic? Or would you recommend using both, with the H1 as an interface. I know the H5 can be used as an interface, but can the H1 do the same thing? Thanks!
ОтветитьShoot! I had no idea that not all Jacks are equal. Now I have to buy the adapter, which is half the price of the microphone, so not that cheap.
ОтветитьThanks !!!!
ОтветитьI know it's an old video, but I saw someone do some extensive testing on a number of similar recorders including the H1. If I remember correctly they established that there seems to be a break point on the H1, around an input level of 42 - 41 , meaning if you set your level to 41 the noise floor is significantly lower than that set at 42. I don't recall the numbers though.
Ответитьi can’t decide if i should get this (but with zoom h1n) or get the tascam dr-10l. i really like everything about the tascam like its lock features and double recording, but this is more versatile with the zoom h1n.
ОтветитьI cannot find the smartlav+ anywhere. Was it discontinued?
ОтветитьI notice that you and a few others wear the lav upside down (or at least what I have assumed is upside down). What is the purpose of doing that?
ОтветитьBut what does it sound like?
You showed the sound sample, but you didn't play it to hear what it sounds like.
Good morning from Australia Curtis! Trying to order my thoughts, as wondering if you can help. So I want some great quality lav mic audio, without resorting to wireless. I have a zoom H1N, and have been looking at tascsm dr10’s. I was hoping for a small form factor for walking interviews/ weddings, so initially I thought a dr10cs with a new Sanken with sennheiser connection would be the best, albeit most expensive, choice. With the sennheiser adapter I can pair it with my other Sanken for wired interviews, and I can record from Sennheiser wireless packs with the tascam if I need. Great. However, now I’m wondering about power requirements for the Sanken. Will the tascam dr10cs/l struggle with its 2v phantom power? I could get the tascam dr10x and use the battery power from my wired Sanken, for slightly larger form factor and maybe much better sound? I would think so but people rave about the dr10l Sanken combo. Thanks for any wisdom you can impart on the subject!
ОтветитьHey nice video, can you tell me what's the diference between sc3 and sc4? Will Smartlav work with Zoom H1 on sc4 adaptor?
Ответитьwhat if i wanted to connect the smart lav with the macbook pro?
