Crazy thing is they didn't have to put the ligjts so low, the chevy traverse is a prime example...same concept...but I'm still getting the Earth Caligraphy lol...
ОтветитьI love the back end design and it provides better cargo room. The dual clutch is where it lost me.
ОтветитьTurbocharged cars are not usable for me because mostly, I make short trips and the engine oil won't get to the operating temperature, which is detrimental for a turbo.
Maybe a Kia is ok because of the long 10 year drivetrain warranty , but I dont care making a mechanic my buddy.
Really cool of Nathan and team to help with this video
ОтветитьIt looks like you're having a heart attack...
ОтветитьI thought the 2.5t comes with the dct not the automatic
ОтветитьNathan is great at his job.
ОтветитьLEGO truck😂
ОтветитьNice collaboration with Nathan. Another great video guys!
ОтветитьThe back looks like VW Vanagon of 80s
ОтветитьAlex I have a 2021 Santa Fe SES 2.5L eng. I like the new Santa Fe from what I see, the only thing I don't like from a safety point is getting in and out of the back seat 3rd row. The second row being electric and very slow and not a manual bypass so you can flop it forward quickly in case of an emergency it would take to long to move forward or if you had a fuse blow the seat won't go forward at all they really need to have an option in case of a crash and you need to get out fast and not become stuck back there. I could fit through the center opening but not everyone plus if you order a bench seat how does it fold forward. What my dad hates about the model I have now is the passenger seat is not electric so he sits about 4" lower then the driver side. Way to low. But I did not want the limited because of that panoramic sunroof to hot inside in the summer. We have it on our Pacifica and hate it. You can't open or tilt unless the inside is all the way open past the first roof window. Plus I did not loke the double clutch trans on the limited now I do have the regular 8 speed auto which they don't offer in the limited turbo model. Would love the 2.5L turbo in my model with a regular 8 speed transmission and regular sunroof. But love the box model. Almost like my old 2006 Honda CR-V. Great video's keep them coming thanks Bert Seal Beach California ⛱️
ОтветитьI bought the 2023 Calligraphy with 4WD for around $45K. I bet the 2024 model will be around $48K. I don't think I would be willing to pay that price.
ОтветитьYou (and other reviewers) are clear to call out 6 speed, 8 speed, or CVT Automatic Transmission, but not Dual Clutch. With all of the issues with DCTs, this is Very Important. The lack of this information means that I usually just skip all Hyundai and Kia Reviews, even though not all of these vehicles are DCTs... (and this video did not say if the Santa Fe still has a DCT or not, but I assume it still does, even after the earlier Recall)
I had hoped this had changed, and watched this video, since I enjoy your reviews.....
Please consider adding this type of "known issues " data with your reviews, and how they've been addressed, and any data supporting the issue will not recur. This is all helpful in determining the right car to purchase.
dang yeah if this came as a PHEV with the 3rd row, I'd be super interested. Not a fan of the backend design, but cant deny its practicality.
ОтветитьThe interior is a HUGE miss. Some VERY stupid elements. Touch controls, glossy black... They should just lift the interior from the Elantra and drop it in every vehicle (minus the glossy plastic).
Ответить2025?
ОтветитьWhat a hidious thing....nothing makes any common logical sense. It's just blehhh square. Could've been better design to make it look sexy and sporty without that funky look. The 2018 traverse is 204.3" in length and ample of space throughout making getting in and out with grace. The vent in the back are kind of awkward on that Santa fe.
ОтветитьI bought the 2019 Santa Fe per your recommendation Alex and I’ve been super happy with it. I don’t know why all these cars insist on getting larger and more expensive. And the rear end does look weird and out of place. I like the GV70, but all these cars have become so expensive. Anyway I’m very happy with my current Hyundai.
ОтветитьLooks like a Chinese interpretation of a Range Rover...
ОтветитьI have to admit the rear threw me for a bit and I wasn't entirely sure, but now I can honestly say, I love it! I am in the market for something larger after my Sportage lease is up in April and the new Santa Fe will be high on my list.
ОтветитьThis guy is one burger away from having a heart attack... he's having trouble breathing between two sentences
Ответить'A' pillar & the windows of the front door remind me a lot of the Carnival which remains a much better choice than this 'x'th suv .A good mention to this rear very large opening I wish the Soul was made like this.
ОтветитьIt looks like Ford flex to me but sporty version
ОтветитьIt looks like a Ford Flex more than anything else.
Ответитьlike Range Rover
ОтветитьWith all the H’s and especially in this color did anyone else think “Hermes Car” 😅
ОтветитьUgly😢
ОтветитьIMO, Hyundai and Kia are grabbing market share on design alone. Their interior and exterior designs are very fresh. Time will tell if their durability and quality are up there too. Honda/Toyota (moreso Honda) needs to step up.
ОтветитьThese events are stupid anyway, ya’ll are just marketing pawns repeating what you’re told to say.
ОтветитьImagine that front end on a new Santa Cruz...
ОтветитьThis is the worst designed exterior from Hyundai in years. Period.
ОтветитьI predict these will become the next big thing.
ОтветитьGlad I have my '19 Santa Fe SEL+; will be looking elsewhere when the time comes to replace it. Never have liked the Defender box look. Not a fan of the rectangular interior, nor the floating center console, either. The turbo engine might be nice; however, I haven't been short of ponies when needed with the N/A engine, including I-80 Grand Junction to Denver multiple times. Tucson is nice (had a loaner '22 Limited for a month); RAV4/Tiguan/Rogue too narrow; Escape/CX-5 too small; Edge/Murano too old and expensive; not a fan of the price, the look or the turbo 1.5 of the new CR-V; Forester and Legacy are still a crap shoot if the engine drinks oil; CX-50/Model Y too expensive. Guess I'll do my best to keep our '19 in good shape a while longer.
ОтветитьSo Alex, this new Santa Fe won't have the weird wet plate clutch thingy in the automatic transmission? As in, it will have a traditional torque converter? GOOD! Thanks!
ОтветитьThat handle could probably be one of the most useless add-ons for this vehicle. Notice how he didn’t even grab it on the way back down no need when you can just put both hands up on the roof rack lol.
ОтветитьJust waiting for the pricing! I really do hope they can keep the extreme value! Better reliablility, too, I hope?
ОтветитьAlex and Nathan teaming up! Love it!!! I'm a big fan of both AoA and TFL...excellent to see the collaboration!!!
ОтветитьI LIKE HIM!!!😎 He comes across as a soft spoken, easy going, straight up guy who gives you all the facts and info you want without any histrionics, editorializing or dumbass opinions. He did a really excellent job 👍👍👍Feel free to use him as often as you can.😀
As for the Santa Fe ... WOW!! That is one slick looking SUV and I'm not the least bothered by the rear end design; it looks clean and minimalist and fits with the squared off look of the vehicle 👍. I just wish the Hybrid had a bit more punch. That is a big vehicle to move around; 226hp is on the edge of underpowered; 250hp would be far better.
Front really looking like a Ford Flex, rear end looks just like the old Ssanyong
ОтветитьI see a great road trip car. Easily roomy enough to be converted to a one person sleeper.
ОтветитьHaha, when Alex said “Nathan” at the beginning, I somehow thought it would be TFL Nathan. Epic
ОтветитьI understand that Hyundai/Kia have been putting their brake lights and rear turn signal bulbs extremely low on their vehicles lately due to Korean law that requires hazard lights to be visible even when the trunk/tailgate is open. It's a balance between safety and cost, I get it. But I'd much rather they spend the (small in the grand scheme of things) amount of extra money to just add extra LED strips to the inside of the trunk/tailgate that only activate when open. That way we can stop getting these awful looking - and in many ways, irresponsible - fascia designs that mount the lights too low to be practical. Especially in the US, what with so many SUVs, trucks, and 18-wheelers, some of these turn signals are mounted so low (looking at you, Hyundai Tucson) that people literally can't see them in stop-and-go traffic conditions.
I see no reason why the brake lights and turn signals couldn't be integrated into a single pair of housings, and mounted where the Santa Fe lettering currently sits. This would put the brake lights at the same height as the headlights, which seems to me like a no brainer.
I love everything about this. Including the rear!
ОтветитьWould have bought one with the plug-in hybrid! Oh well.
ОтветитьLike it better compared to the old ones. Definitely Land Rover influenced. Rear end could have done better.
ОтветитьHow can a big boxy car be do tight inside?
ОтветитьLooks like the bottom of the tailgate is part of the bumper. You better get a ball and hitch for some protection.
ОтветитьHate the taillights and gloss black trim.
But Hyundai is making impressive design moves as always.
Initially, I didn't like the rear due to the weirdly low-mounted taillights, but the more I see it in these kinds of videos, the more I think I like it for being unique and distinctive.
