You are so far ahead of me in your digital world. I have no real idea of the real guitar sound. Did you say you have three Amps combined digitally? It sounds great with all your effects. You could make a stick with a rubber band sound Great ! 👍 you rock !

Before I change pickups I have good old fiddle with my EQ pedal, I have saved loads of cash doing this, I wish I had come across this video when it came out though as I do have some instruments that definitely needed new pickups

You would be surprised how much changing the height of your pickups makes. Tune your instrument, magic doesn't exist. The only thing I will say is avoid high output ones. 7k to 7.5k is what I like.

Pick-ups in a guitar are like speakers in a cabinet. It's the transducers that make the most difference.

My question about pickups in general is that if you start using pedals and especially an EQ, surely you are colouring in the original tone and sound of the pickup. So if you did a comparison with a similar cheaper pickup wouldn't you come up with a reasonably close sound.?

I wish examples would have ZERO effects.
There is always an influence in the signal chain. Even the amp has its output sound. This is for YT's. But Im glad to have this a s reference.

You raved about g n l guitars
I tried out 5 of them. Each one had frets like railroad ties.
Are you insane or is there more than one g n l guitars company?
What gives here?

PRS look like a museum piece and sound rather pedestrian. Give me a Tele Strat & LP & I’m done.

Years ago they started putting gold-plating on turntable stylus, connections, cable ends, etc and they still do nowadays. I haven't seen a video that shows any benefit or proof of any benefit electrically or sound wise etc using gold or not. Maybe you could do one for us. Thank you for all your videos. I appreciate your professionalism and patience. One day I will either get this old broken guitar fixed and be able to start learning or get some more work or money to buy a better one.

In a solid body, the pickups are much more influential than wood types on tone..As an experiment in my guitar shop, I installed a 1971 Stratocaster pickup in a Les Paul.Pot changed to 250k. Through a Marshall Major I had in, it Nailed Ritchie Blackmores tone on "Made in Japan" It didn't just sound like ANY Strat but SPECIFICALLY an early 70s Strat! The Paradox being the Strats in the shop couldn't get that 'Blackmore Stratocaster tone yet the Les Paul did.
Conversely, by changing only the wood type, you can't change a Strat tone into making it sound like a Les Paul.

I never find pickups making a huge difference. They do, but the guitar will always come thru the sound. I've stopped swapping pickups for that reason.

I just read that a fusion reactor somewhere was the first to output more power than it takes to sustain the fusion reaction! Hopefully, it won’t take another 50 years to have fusion reactors producing our electricity! Fusion power is the Holy Grail of electricity generation!

Dude you got so much shit it’s not you I hear playing it is a fuzz box or a gizmo that I never want. I just want Marshall and Fender or Gibson Epiphone. If pickups are the show let’s just talk about pickups and you can cut out all the Bull shit stuff that costs a fortune bucks and retired people are not in the market to get.

Tim, you mention how or what to do to make a brand stand out just by seeing them in a guitar. For what it's worth, the pick-ups in the new Steve Via Ibanez PIA, engraved as they are, look super cool and are instantly recognized. Just saying...
