You are so far ahead of me in your digital world. I have no real idea of the real guitar sound. Did you say you have three Amps combined digitally? It sounds great with all your effects. You could make a stick with a rubber band sound Great ! 👍 you rock !
ОтветитьTim one day u gota let me board ur space ship before I die 😂
ОтветитьWizz pickups are the best
Ответитьlove it, I want a studio
ОтветитьBefore I change pickups I have good old fiddle with my EQ pedal, I have saved loads of cash doing this, I wish I had come across this video when it came out though as I do have some instruments that definitely needed new pickups
ОтветитьYou would be surprised how much changing the height of your pickups makes. Tune your instrument, magic doesn't exist. The only thing I will say is avoid high output ones. 7k to 7.5k is what I like.
Ответить@Tim Pierce Guitar which kinman models were in this video?
ОтветитьPick-ups in a guitar are like speakers in a cabinet. It's the transducers that make the most difference.
ОтветитьMy question about pickups in general is that if you start using pedals and especially an EQ, surely you are colouring in the original tone and sound of the pickup. So if you did a comparison with a similar cheaper pickup wouldn't you come up with a reasonably close sound.?
ОтветитьWhich Kinman models were these?
ОтветитьI'm a Duncan distortion guy....and lace sensor for single coil.....Caribbean guy here!
ОтветитьI wish examples would have ZERO effects.
There is always an influence in the signal chain. Even the amp has its output sound. This is for YT's. But Im glad to have this a s reference.
You raved about g n l guitars
I tried out 5 of them. Each one had frets like railroad ties.
Are you insane or is there more than one g n l guitars company?
What gives here?
Tim#1
ОтветитьThey are pugly...don't care what u say.
ОтветитьI am gonna link Glenn Fricker here 🤣
ОтветитьPRS look like a museum piece and sound rather pedestrian. Give me a Tele Strat & LP & I’m done.
ОтветитьGreat sound and playing!
ОтветитьOf course they’ll sound good played by you through thousands of dollars of gear
ОтветитьpRS pickups STINK
ОтветитьYears ago they started putting gold-plating on turntable stylus, connections, cable ends, etc and they still do nowadays. I haven't seen a video that shows any benefit or proof of any benefit electrically or sound wise etc using gold or not. Maybe you could do one for us. Thank you for all your videos. I appreciate your professionalism and patience. One day I will either get this old broken guitar fixed and be able to start learning or get some more work or money to buy a better one.
ОтветитьGreat video Tim but you didn't say which model Tyson pickup you are using. He makes four different sets.
ОтветитьI like the Ellis neck pickup but the bridge is just to Ice pick and bright
ОтветитьVery Chimey pickups
ОтветитьIn a solid body, the pickups are much more influential than wood types on tone..As an experiment in my guitar shop, I installed a 1971 Stratocaster pickup in a Les Paul.Pot changed to 250k. Through a Marshall Major I had in, it Nailed Ritchie Blackmores tone on "Made in Japan" It didn't just sound like ANY Strat but SPECIFICALLY an early 70s Strat! The Paradox being the Strats in the shop couldn't get that 'Blackmore Stratocaster tone yet the Les Paul did.
Conversely, by changing only the wood type, you can't change a Strat tone into making it sound like a Les Paul.
Are those LRPs on the 335 Tim? Or are they Signatures? Hope all is well!!
ОтветитьIF i ever get a set the HOLMES 450 and 455 will be the one. Incredible pickups!
ОтветитьI never find pickups making a huge difference. They do, but the guitar will always come thru the sound. I've stopped swapping pickups for that reason.
ОтветитьPRS over a Gibson or Fender…I don’t think so bruh…
ОтветитьI just read that a fusion reactor somewhere was the first to output more power than it takes to sustain the fusion reaction! Hopefully, it won’t take another 50 years to have fusion reactors producing our electricity! Fusion power is the Holy Grail of electricity generation!
ОтветитьFret change good for you Tim? What did you end up with for your ES?
ОтветитьSeriously… why do I need anything beyond my ES-335??
🤷♂️
Hi Tim , love your videos ....what would you recommend for my Epiphone 60's les paul , it comes with probuckers 2 & 3 , Your opinion should i change them ? i like blues mostly , southern rock style like the allman brothers , etc.. what would you do ? thanks
ОтветитьTry Lindy Fralin they the best !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьBest video of yours I have seen to date. You seem very genuine and matter-of-fact. Cheers!
ОтветитьTim, the JB reissue is it a Gibson or Epi? It sounds kickin' with the Monty's pickups clean and dirty. No doubt..
ОтветитьWoooow!!!!!!
ОтветитьTIM. That double stop sounded exactly like Gary Rossington in give me three steps damn you got to love a Les Paul
ОтветитьMonty sounds like steel poles.
ОтветитьThe noiseless pickups in that last guitar sound like cheap Chinese knockoffs.
ОтветитьI’ve been using Q pickups , they are hand wound by a guy in Croatia , really great vintage strat tones ,
ОтветитьThis is complete B.S. if you put your guitar through a Fuzz/Distortion effect all you will hear is the Fuzz/Distortion not the pickup.
ОтветитьWe’re these the signature model or LRP ?
ОтветитьDude you got so much shit it’s not you I hear playing it is a fuzz box or a gizmo that I never want. I just want Marshall and Fender or Gibson Epiphone. If pickups are the show let’s just talk about pickups and you can cut out all the Bull shit stuff that costs a fortune bucks and retired people are not in the market to get.
ОтветитьHi Tim! I'd love to know what you think of Lambertones pickups? The Crema PAF and Ristretto P90
ОтветитьTim, what magnets are in the the Ron Ellis pickups? Maybe a touch scooped. Clarity with plenty of attack. Really like those tones.
ОтветитьHmm...pickups plugged through $50k worth of processing and Amps
ОтветитьAm I the only person who thinks every one of these is bright to the point of shrill? Is it the amp settings? Listening through high end speakers, so it's not that...not one here that I would go out and buy after listening to this. Yes, I know he's a pro and I'm an amateur.
ОтветитьTim, you mention how or what to do to make a brand stand out just by seeing them in a guitar. For what it's worth, the pick-ups in the new Steve Via Ibanez PIA, engraved as they are, look super cool and are instantly recognized. Just saying...
ОтветитьThat first 335 sounds just fantastic! My favorite,, gonna check out if Elis makes any pu’s for teles.
