Ответить1. Not Tandem Charelston. This is Side by Side. 2. You aren't dancing to the music. 3. The music is not swing Music. 4. AHGAHAGHAHGAGHHGAHGAH
ОтветитьThank you Jon for saying everything I was thinking in rage as I watched this video. :P
Ответитьthis is not tandem charleston!!
ОтветитьAh, Robert! This isn't tandem! I love you, but no!
ОтветитьFALSE.
ОтветитьI said the same thing about this video :P
Ответитьadblockplus
ОтветитьHow.. for the love of God... can you demonstrate basic lindy/swing music to such lame "I'm on hold with Verizon customer service" music. Poor example for newbies.
ОтветитьYour dancing is bad and you should feel bad!
ОтветитьVery clear instruction. at a speed just right for beginners. I like this style of Lindy.
ОтветитьThis is Side by Side Charleston, not Tandem Charleston. Where do these people get their instruction/information?
Ответить"And there's your Charlestons"
ОтветитьDefinitely not Tandem Charleston. And that music at the end wasn't even Swing!
ОтветитьMy biggest complaint is that they don't mention how to actually lead this. You can dance it all you want, but as a lead, if you don't communicate what you're doing, you're going to have an unresponsive follow. Mostly because they won't have anything to respond to.
ОтветитьWhy do a swing dance video without swing music?
ОтветитьThis is NOT tandem charleston. It is side by side charleston. How come a 'teacher' does not know this?
ОтветитьEverything they do is so uncool.
ОтветитьNot the tandem charleston, side by side charleston...
ОтветитьJust echoing what others have clearly been trying to hit home. This is not the tandem Charleston.
You two are weird.
Actually anything you do as a couple is called "TANDEM" you may have seen the tandem bicycle. So whether it's "side by side" or "back to front" Charleston it's still a TANDEM Charleston.
ОтветитьTHE BEST Swing lessons I've found on the net. So clear both in instruction and video. Brilliant. Thanks guys.
Tandem, not tandum Charlestons, frankly I don't give a damn, I'll enjoy doing the move whatever you purists say. I'm not so fanatical about terminology. If I were, then the Swing "Wrap in wrap out" is called the Basket in Modern Jive! Still THE BEST and CLEAREST instruction in Swing dance by far!
this is not the tandem charleston...
Ответить1- It's not the Tandem Charleston
2- That's definitely not Swing music
3- The Charleston is not part of Lindy Hop.
We practiced for an hour and 'bingo'. Now have it down with an infusion of our own style.
Thanks.
"And there's your Charlestons" :-D
ОтветитьThis is NOT tandem Charleston. Swing out maybe, but not tandem.
ОтветитьAre you really "dance champions"?
Ответитьso much bitching, little ingrates!
ОтветитьOk it kinda annoyed me that they’re calling this tandem. Tandem Charleston is when one partner is in front of the other, both doing the same foot work. (As if they were riding a tandem bicycle) awful tutorial. Not much Is said about the actual dynamics of leading...
ОтветитьThis is called side-by-side, not tandem! Tandem is when one partner is in front of the other and they do the Charleston. Just so you all who are learning know what the terminology is.
ОтветитьThis is awful. A tandem is in shadow position. These people have no idea what they’re talking about.
ОтветитьThis is not a Tandem Charleston
Ответитьthis is not the tandem charleston.
ОтветитьWhy that music??
ОтветитьBite your heathen tongues. Royston is god tier in WCS. They commissioned him for this, paid him well, and then slapped their filthy muggle mislabel upon it.
ОтветитьI dont think this is tandem.
ОтветитьIt is normal for especially unsuspecting partners (mainly ladies) to look a little at your face when you switch into "tandem charleston" position just before doing that "rock step kick, double kick" thing that starts off the figure. This is a deterrent for the leader to avoid doing anything predating (aka "sexually harassing") to that follower, or anything that can hurt that partner, when doing this signature type of charleston that happens in the Lindy Hop dance. It all comes down to the matter of trust.
Also, the arm circles during the tandem charleston are to keep the follower's and leader's arms from tightening up especially with doing the transitions in that charleston (for example, changing to flying charleston and back again to tandem after that).
