what I´m missing here a bit is the rx 7800 xt

Do not buy a GTX 1660 Super in 2023. The latest driver Nvidia gave it makes the system have a BSOD, and on top of that. They don't plan on servicing it again. - The fact that they are still selling these GPU's should be looked into by someone with the legal resources to sue them for selling faulty or broken equipment.

580 still relevant in 2023 means the GPU market is crazy

Quick note : the 6700 XT does NOT perform similarly to the 3060 Ti it is noticeably FASTER in most games, it's more on par with the 3070 in terms of performance, daniel owens videos tend to be misleading since his game sample size is small and very inconsistent.

So now that the 7800XT is about the same price as a 6800XT, any reason to not jump up to the 7800XT?

Pedantic point: the RX 580 is not generally faster than the RX 6500XT, in a PCI-E 4 system the opposite is true, however, the 6500XT suffers from issues with texture streaming and never allows you to turn textures up from low in any new game. With the RX 580 you get a few less frames, but you can get medium or even high textures without sacrificing performance and you won't have texture streaming issues due to low bandwidth.

No offense dude but the very first choice needs a LOT of caveats. The RX-580 SUCKS in gaming now, like you have to turn down settings so much it's just garbage.

So if you are ONLY using it for gaming AND you have a MODERN system for which PCIe gen4 has been out for 4 years now, the 6500 XT is a better buy. While the wins in gaming are often small, the fact is it wins more often AND you can undervolt/OC RDNA 2 GPUs and get more out of them.


I don't know WHY so many reviewers get caught up on the 4GB and PCIe gen4 X4. It's 1080p gaming, not 4K. You spit out the same statements that have always been said about the 6500 XT but the gaming performance is decent, unlike the RX-580.


The RX-580 is no longer getting driver updates. SO new games? It's going to suck balls. Patches for games that need to be made in drivers? Nope. All done.


Try actually doing work and looking at these things rather than spitting out the same crap everyone else does who also don't actually look at the products.

The $800 RX 7900XT is the better choice if you can afford.

1080p = Minimum 8GB - Recommended 12GB
1440p = Minimum 12GB - Recommended 16GB
2160p = Minimum 16GB - Recommended no idea i didn't bother with this resolution.

I suggest the 5500XT 8GB under $150 tho, it beats the 580 and consumes less power. Its an x8 card unlike the 6500XT so it should be fine even with PCIe 3.0.
