How to SPEED READ

Hello! I truly appreciate your valuable tips on how to read faster. This has been a helpful resource for me to make the most of my time when reading books, especially those with a central idea and numerous examples. Reducing sub-vocalization and using a finger as a guide to follow along the page have indeed helped me read faster without compromising comprehension. U can do it on a kindl (now?) - just disable touchscreen. U can still flip the page, but u can keep ur finger on the page to follow. With the odd accidental page flip, but once i figured it out, i disable touchscreen most of the time now.

What's the point of increasing your speed if you're not going to comprehend what you're reading?

Normally I read 16 books every month and is kinda cool

How do I stop subvocalization? Harder I try louder it gets in my mind. I am really missing something basic.

reduce subvocalisation
read the middle + peripheral vision for the sides

i think speed reading classic books is the biggest waste someone could do, for everything else it’s fine

My speed reading involves not reading rubbish books written by people trying to make a fast buck. Most non fiction books could be condensed to one side of a sheet of A4. Put the kettle on.

Are you a native speaker.. You speak very fast and smooth.. I find it difficult to understand.. but I love it.. How do you do it?

HOOOOOOOW do I get rid of subvocalization ? I've heard it so many times but HOOOOOW. No one ever explains how they turn that off.
