Thanks a lot. One suggestion would be that you could have removed the other Two PCBs on the top so that the opening would have been wider and you could have easily plugged the wire in. I just did that, and it took me just 10 mins to fix the whole stuff.

I’ve had mine for years. I noticed that I must have rotated the many times as it was quite wound up, as a result it pulled that plug out. So thanks for the “Hot” tip. Fixed it in 10min. Also make sure to unwind. Thanks again.

EVERYONE I know who had this flash, had this "HOT" issue. Just another garbage Chinese company, selling pure gabage flashes. Also, EVERYONE had the hot shoe issues where it comes loose with use after 1-2 months. That's 20+ people. Yonguo is a scam garbage company selling crap that lasts 1-2 years max

caracas mano, me salvou tbm, poxa, fui no tecnico pra resolver , ele ficou com meu flash 2 dias e quando liguei pra ele me passar o orçamente , ele disse q meu flash tava com problema de circuito, e q nao t inha como mexer por falta de peça pra reposiçao, ... até até entendo, porem discartar e dizer q nao tem como consertar , ? daí achei esse video , e dito e feito , resolveu meu problema..., parabens ao amigo ai por compartilhar. ia jogar R$ 600,00 no lixo.

I am here from Brazil and I was with my flesh without working for more than 2 years and here in Brazil we do not have the Yongnuo brand, but when I saw your post my problem was over in 10 minutes !! Thank you, my brother! I want to point out that this happened because of the turns in the "head" of the flesh, causing the internal wires to twist and consequently releasing the socket! thank you so much again!

Thank you! For anyone having trouble taking off the front cover, there are six screws, four on the bottom by hot shoe and two near the top underneath the flash swivel part. Both re tiny Phillips like eyeglass screws but the top ones are a bit smaller thread.

Mine doesnt work! The blue light wont go away, even though the batteries are fully charge or the flash is off. Its just shuts down for no reason. But before its shuts down there are letters that pops up on the lsd like P.L and a battery sign. I’ve been trying to fix it but still it doesnt work. Help please 😔

I have a question about another problem. I have an older yn685 with a firmware of 1.2.2 and I am trying to get it into update mode. I have 2 more of those and they all went into update mode with no problem with holding in the MODE button while turning it on. But this older one just will not do it, when I hold the mode button in and turn on it just turns on to the operation mode ready to do. Any ideas on how I can update this thing? Thank you.

Hey, my normal screw driver for my glasses is not fine enough, can anyone suggest what screw driver to get? I have been to an electrical and hardware store in search of one small enough to open the doors.

Openned up YN 600RT II did not find ribbon wire in same place as 685. Could find no disconnected wires/ribbons. Has anyone else discovered a fix for the 600 RT II?

Thanks for the information. My speedlight is working fine now.

Bit of a worry with Yongnuo QC. Mind you, the dude doing the fix must have been a Yongnuo employee judging by his manual dexterity.

Please take notes as suggested by ATG:
* Do not fire many flashes in 24mm zoomed
* Do not use White Dome over flash head
* Do not use much in Multi much
* Do not shoot HSS much
* Do not twist flash head to quickly back and forth
* Apply a little of black silicone on Hotshoe's 4 screws & 2 screws on Shoulder

Overheating, melt Fresnel & hot batteries will occurred.
Loose screws will break your flash due to quick turning of the head without holding the body.
If you found out the ribbon cable is not loose (shown on this video), avoid above as much as possible.

I had a problem with a ringflash I bought on amazon it stopped working after 1 year I sent an email through amazon to the supplier in china had to pay postage both ways they sent me a new ringflash.

Can anyone help me, how to set up YN685 so that my built in flash on Nikon d7200 will make the YN685 fire in distance?
I don't have a receiver or anything. I want to use my nikon built in flash to trigger ?
