Pure gold to see Roy and Wizzard live...I was beginning to think no footage existed.

And great to hear them conclude with a jazz track; Burney got Woody and Pentelow into that groove.

I knew and/or worked with many of these guys as a pro jazz pianist; great to see them playing without the usual mickeytacking leaping about for TOTP and The Tschiakovsky is right up Mick Burney;'s steet.

Roy Wood was an incredible talent in THE MOVE, ELO and the WIZZARD. I really loved it when he was playing with Jeff Lynne and Bev Bevan.

Gorra say this that was great.Seldom today do you see a live band play all of which were showing that they are having a great time.just magic.

I think this was cut from the show. I was a Wizzard/Move fanatic in San Francisco in University at this time. I doubt if I ever missed a show unless there was a Tubes concert on this night. Interesting though...

Shame the rest of it isn’t here… 🤷‍♂️

I had no idea Wizzard played in the States. I don't think even The Move ever played there.

This was "in the vault" and unaired since it;s original airing of 1974. Gives me hope the other bands who appeared in 1974 are also still existing.

Wonder what Kirshner thought he was getting "Well I've booked the Altanta Rhythm Section" . Roy and the boys "yep, we can do that"

Thank you so much for posting this. Been a fan of Wizzard for 30 years and have never seen live footage. Seeing them in action puts the whole thing into a new focus. How on Earth such a broad musical vision could be brought to life... on stage... is amazing.

PHENOMENAL! The musicianship, theatrics, songwriting and selection, the brilliance of the entire majestic hugeness of the live experience and, having this performance stimulate every single sensory mechanism in your body, soul, heart and mind.

it is crazy, insanity, completely unlike anything else happening at this time...on such a magnificent level.

And, Kirshener probably thought they were a bunch of no-talent, stoned, morons...until he heard (and, saw) how it all came together so brilliantly and, he heard how amazingly skilled the entire cast of lunatics actually were...must've really messed Don up...I mean, he thought that Nesmith was a pain in the ass (a very talented and intelligent asshole at that!!) Roy Wood must've really made him uncomfortable with his massive musical mind/capabilities

Thank Dog for Roy! He's made our lives that wee bit better that isn't something that usually ever happens!
