The Steam Deck is just incredible and a worthy 1st place, especially due to how non-fiddly Steam OS is compared to Windows solutions, not to mention the fantastic support and community initiatives like "EmuDeck" and "DeckyLoader". Say what you will about the utilitarian look of the device. I love the track pads. I can't see myself wanting a handheld PC without them. Both in terms of precision in modern games, as well as navigating of non-joypad UIs or mouse-focused games (not to mention the power of being able to make custom touch menus in Steam Input). Sure, you can't connect an external GPU, you can't squeeze more than 15W out of the APU. (and really after 10-13W you don't gain a lot of performance), however, considering how cheap the device is, and how cheap it is to build a budget gaming PC (a used i7 office PC for 100$ + GPU) I see no reason to go the route of external GPUs or using the Steam Deck for anything but handheld gaming, which it handles brilliantly.

I haven't seen any reviewers play minecraft java on a handheld, and that's the point where I start to get interested. If the render and simulation distances can be set high enough to be playable, and it can handle a large number of entities, a handheld can replace my older 50lb desktop

I Have Been thinking buying New handheld pc gaming console because I like consoleplaying More than pc gaming, Steam deck, Ayo Neo Airs, One x players, gbd wins and Steam deck are truly interesting and amazing pc gaming consoles, maybe I'll try some of those like ayo neo Air or something Else like Aok Zoe. I loved the idea of Steam deck, but I hate the fact that for me to buy one my only option is the black market. It's ridiculous. So I'm not getting one until we have the proper store/shipping rights than EVERYONE in the world.(I may ending getting the Steam deck 2🤣)

Personally my favourite two are the Deck cos it feels official as it's Valves own PC-console and it's just a great all round device, very comfortable and I love Steam OS - makes the experience like a console - great system and Valve are putting a lot of work into the system and OS. I have to say I really like the Ayaneo Air too as it's the most beautiful system and it's very light and easy to carry around. I love Indies and it's the perfect indie device... so everyone will like something different but just my personal choices ...

I just backed the Onexplayer 2 on Indiegogo. It was a really hard choice that ultimately came down to the versatility of the device. It can be used as a handheld console, a laptop, a tablet and can be hooked to an external gpu or a 4K display. I hope I don’t regret it. It was quite expensive even with the early bird discount

I was going to get a 64gb steam deck and a 1TB SD card but found a open box 1TB onexplayer mini 5800U for $700 and added a sandisk512gb ultra fit USB drive from Amazon for $42 . Sitting at 1.5TB ( 1TB for steam games and PC programs and 512gb for switch, psp, PS3 , Xbox 360 roms) 😁.

There are so many PC gaming handhelds now. Steam Deck is still the best cost to performance device available. 👍

Power is only a small factor. What matters to me is BATTERY LIFE at 720p low settings, GYRO AIMING and WEIGHT.
