DJI Mavic 3 vs DJI AIR2S Comparison - Maybe Not Worth Upgrading

my first ever drone was the Mavic 2 pro, I had to sell it for some financial issues a while back, I've since got the Air 2S, which is a great drone, it seems with the huge price difference, already having the Air 2s, it's not really worth that upgrade, though it would be nice to have the mavic 3. Great video! For now I'll just stick with my Air 2s. Now I need to learn to fly it as in those amazing shots!

I’ve owned both (currently have the Mav 3 & Mini3 Pro) and trust me Air2S is no where near the capabilities of the M3 the differences are too much to point out! Just fork over the money and you will be set!

In the long run you will go nuts for the Mav3 and fall in love with this Drone! but if you feel the features are just enough for you stick with the Air 2 dont bother to baby upgrade to the Air2S no really worth the upgrade.

I'll just buy the Mavic three when the price drops in half. Which it will do as soon as they drop the next model. I'm a lightly used drone buyer. Much better prices.

Mavic 3 definitely has more details than air2s. Overall I might upgrade from Mavic air 1 to 3 instead of 2s

Please for the love of god make the goggle’s compatible with the air 2s and mavic 3, for people such as myself who use their drone all the time, it would be game changing in a way that I’m able to see my surroundings through FPV and not looking down at a smartphone screen.

Hi , thanks dor the informative video .I currently own mavic air 2 and I mainly use it for pictures and panorama photos. I plan to print these photos and hoping to upgrade mavic air 2s with better details . I wanted your opinion if it's worth the upgrade

I came sooooo close to buying the Mavic 3. But at the end of the day, I simply could not justify the price. I know, I know. I went with the Air 2S instead. Sometimes you have to put "getting real" up front.

There are many pros out there that make a living with mini 2 , air 2 and air 2s. You can create a so called PRO VIDEO with an air 2s almost identical as mavic 3 if you know how to shoot,edit etc.. 99% of all clients wont see any difference. I think Mavic 3 advantages are for the pilot not the client.. No pros before mavic 3? Of course it is better to have mavic 3 compare to air 2s but it might be better a spare air 2s... if you are pro you might need a backup right? in case of a fall hit damage... Mavic 3 for pros air 2s for enthusiasts? i could say that opposite.. Mavic 3 has many advantages but a bigger battery wont make it pro or obstacle avoidance. For example i dont find any pro usage that i will need continuous 46 mimutes(35 prictical) . if i do pro projects i can land and replace battery no worries. even in events most continuous shots dont exceed 5-10 minutes, and there's always always time to replace battery.. Night quality is my only concern but not night and day difference.
So final thoughts Mavic 3 is better but if you are a pro and have 2k to spend is better to go for 2 air2s in order to finish any project even if you have a fail... If you crash your drone in the middle of a project you wont feel nice telling to your client that you must wait 2-3 weeks for a repair... but hey thats just my opinion.. Great video by the way.. the only thing i didnt like is categorize pro the mavic 3 and amateur the air 2s..

4K FPS are still very choppy as I can see. Not sure why anyone would throw a $2k+ for a product that still cant shoot a proper smooth 4K. AFA image quality goes, I can easily see a dramatic difference there on your comparison, especially in blacks. Seems like Mavic 3 is the only acceptable camera. The air has a typical "samsung phone" shitty camera basically, at least I can tell that by your samples.

I love the zoom function, Im always checking on crime sense around my house and a good zoom would be great

I have bought a bunch of drones starting from the Mavic 1 and what I learned is... for my use, we only use 5-10 seconds of footage to present an establishing shot. Clients can't tell the difference between a mavic mini, air2s and air 3. We still shoot at 1080 60 and rarely shoot at 4K 60. Thank you for the video and comparison review. For now I am keeping the air2s as my workhorse

Got to tell ya, I just got back from Ireland and my air2 was a beast. I didn't expect it to handle the winds as well as it did.

Went from mavic air 2 to air 2s my most best drone i ever owned fly on the west cost of ireland holds up to the best winds... well we have winds all year round. Flew it today with over 40km winds no bother. Would buy a mavic 3 if it was it massive upgrade. ie over 1 hour flight time 20km distance and fly in over 60 km winds then its worth it. I think dji shot themselves in the foot for bringing the air2s so good camera fine for me. for an normal hobbyist the air2s is the way to go.

I won't buy any new DJI drones because they don't work with Litchi Waypoints Till a year later, I can not live without Litchi Waypoints it's a Game Changer!!

How do they justify the price of the mavic 3 CINE is beyond me, air 2S all the way or wait till the air 3S comes out, the prices are going to sky rocket as DJI now has the market sewn up, the LCD remotes will be a standard to justify the price hike, they are doing it on the mini 3 as we speak

Thanks a lot. I intent to purchase the Air 2S but seeing the 3 make me re-consider that as I'm using a Lumix GX8 for stage filming and I know what it capable of as it also has a M43 sensor.
Since filming is my hobby only and not making any money from it now, I think I'll go with the 2S instead for saving money.

Well the 2S camera quality is certainly better than the 2, but not as good in dynamic range as the 3.

hey Alex, great videos... I had a q.. I presently have the air 2S and previously I had the Zoom. Ive noticed the subject tracking on the Air 2S is pretty lousy compared to the Zoom. the air 2S is unable to track subjects that well. like I used it to track myself while riding, the air 2S looses subject very easily, the Zoom on the other had followed me very easily. IS THIS ACTUALLY A DIFFERENCE?

I have the normal Mavic Air 2, I mostly do photography and here in the Netherlands the weather is mostly crap.. but as a photographer I want quality pictures. And in 2023 there are gonna be Cx label regulations which suck (Europe). So what should I do.. Just wait till 2023? Buy the Air 2S or the 3? I just feel like upgrading because im hyped, lol
