Hey Drew. I understand that you’re a big trouble if you run out of cash in Iran, but what should one actually do if that happens? I heard some high-end carpet shops allow payments with visa/Mastercard. Is that true? In this case, maybe you could make a payment with a card and ask the shop owner to give you the equivalent in cash?

Same as visiting North Korea, you are lucky that fully supervised. If your passport sticky an Iranian visa, it looks bad in other countries epwhen you travel there

The nation is actually a friendly nation but I have to admit that if one comes from the Western World then going to Iran could be a diplomatic mistake because it means you are endorsing the regime in Iran with the Ayatollahs.
It will actually become a tourist destination.
However the nation is in serious trouble because of the Western Samctions on the Middle East.

I’m from Canada and I found out recently that I’m actually mostly Iranian from my moms side of the family which is nuts because I always thought I was fully Indian. My Grandma left from Iran to India but they just never told me until I turned 18. Now I’m fascinated and want to learn more about it. Hopefully one day I’ll get to visit.

I can’t understand why people find Iranian currency system confusing. It is like dollars and cents, but instead of a hundred, every 10 rials is a toman. Also, all bills and coins print the value in rials. That is it.
So if you have 1000 rial bill, it is 100 tomans, Similar to how $2 is 200 cents.

Also, on streets, people communicate using toman.
