InDesign – Grid Systems Tutorial for Editorial Layout Design

Learn how to create and use an f-height grid in combination with your baseline grid to design content-heavy typography layouts for newspapers, magazines and brochures.

For the demonstration I’m using the three column typographic grid systems I created for InDesign. These are available in both A4 and US Letter formats and include versions with and without the f-height grid.

The tutorial covers potential challenges when working with baseline aligned copy, picture captions and the benefits of the f-height grid system.
