Tighter courses are older courses which also play a lot shorter in many cases so I use a Mini Driver instead that gives me about 260 yards and that’s plenty. Wider longer courses are more modern where a regular driver is needed and I carry the mini driver anyway as it can be hit off the deck easily and I sold my 3 wood.
ОтветитьIm partial to Titleist
ОтветитьThe TSI3 I had sounded different just with shafts. With stiff tensei blue it was metallic ping sound.
With Tensei white X muted pop and more powerful feeling.
Taylormade fan but switching for the tsr3 right here 👋 the dispersion for me is so tight and just as long as the stealth.
But i prefer the feel of the titleist!
Titleist just oozes quality
Ответить2y more distance to put 50 pct more balls in the rough. Sounds like a good trade to me. ???
ОтветитьSHAFT,, SHAFT,, SHAFT! You should always do your tests with the same shaft! That Graphite Design is a $365 shaft & that Rogue is $150 shaft
ОтветитьIs there a video of Neil Tappins TSR4 v Stealth Plus review?
ОтветитьClass vs trend
ОтветитьGreat video. I just bought a TSR3 at my Country Club Demo Day...can hardly wait until it arrives. I hit the thing a TON compared to my Taylormade Rocketballz.
ОтветитьJust shot my personal best with TSr3 so I can attest to the consistency. And it's long. Well done, Titleist. Looking forward to all the fun golf in the two years until the TSz3 is released. 😅
ОтветитьI love the TSR3 but hate the standard grip it comes with. Does anyone know how to buy the Lamkin ST+2 Hybrid 360 (specifically the 360)? Lamkin has the 360 on their website and I have it on another driver and love the grip. I can find all kinds of retailers where I can buy the branded down the grip version, but not the 360. I'm almost ready to give in and order the branded version, but thought I would try reaching out here first and see if anyone knows where I can order the 360. Thanks.
ОтветитьThanks for the great vid! My golf partner just got the TSR2. It goes deep...I have a SIM 2 9 degree. Think I'll keep this for a while. It also goes deep:)
ОтветитьJust got the tsr3, def much more control with the golf ball than any driver I’ve ever had
ОтветитьI own the Stealth Plus and the TSR2. Dispersion with the TSR2 and a correctly fitted shaft outside with Trackman indicated it is about 5 to 10 yards longer than the Stealth Plus. The six shots hit with the TSR all fell within a 6 yard diameter circle. The Stealth Plus shots were in a oblong about 20 yards wide. And I was fitted for the Stealth Plus this past February when I bought it.
ОтветитьThe taylormade was longer but you could argue the Titleist was a more functional flight at 2300 vs 2000 rpm. Wish this got mentioned more often because for most people 2000 spin is really dangerous because the toe becomes 1500-1700 which is just uncontrollable
ОтветитьSMH 🙄
ОтветитьShould have been fitted for both to be fair.
ОтветитьIt looks like your site has been hacked. Fix this mate
ОтветитьTitleist was 10 TM was 9. Extra spin reduced dispersion and slightly shorter. Contrary to popular belief 2000 spin is not enough for most people.
ОтветитьLest ye forget , the stealth drivers are glued together , titleist drivers are welded . question ... would you buy a car thats glued together or one thats welded ?
ОтветитьWhy have you tested the plus v tsr3? They aren’t comparable, tsr3 has all the weight back and not made to be a low spinning all out distance driver like the stealth plus. The test should be the stealth plus v tsr4 which both have weight forward.
ОтветитьI’m getting fit today. I have a stealth with a premium Accra shaft. When i hit it, nothing better. When you slightly miss it, isn’t good. I’m looking at tsr 3. Where it wasn’t the longest i tested, it was super consistent
ОтветитьAnd earlier this year, reviews on Tsi3 against Stealth+ showed no real difference 😂
ОтветитьToo bad this wasn't a true comparison, with same shaft/loft settings
ОтветитьStealth favors the heel side big time at address. Kind of a turn off but still a good performer.
ОтветитьYou better pick that Titleist! Nice shirt and shoes as well! 🤣🤙🏻
Ответитьim a 1-3 cap with most drivers, with stealth plus i was a 10, with various shafts. i couldnt stand it. currently using taylormade mini driver and i love it...
Ответитьare you a pro have 107 swing speed wit my driver but only goes 230 on garmin g80 could this be wrong
ОтветитьHang on, you're sponsored by Titleist, are bedecked in Footjoy gear and, despite you having better results with the Stealth, favour the Titleist? Funny that - not!!! Oh for Golf Monthly to do unbiased reviews!!!
ОтветитьThe goal is always the longest and straightest driver, period! Go figure, get fitted.
ОтветитьAs others have commented.... you are comparing apples with oranges. Use the TSr4 with heavy weight at the front if you want to get the most accurate comparison
ОтветитьThank you for an honest review!
Ответитьi went stealth plus. 10.5 surprised me how easy it was to keep low when i needed too. but both are going to be A+. just depends on your day at the links
ОтветитьThere’s so much good stuff out there it makes my head spin. A proper fitting would be in order and live with the results. Both these 2 drivers are pretty good in the looks department though.
ОтветитьI've got a LA Golf Blue AXS 70 shaft in my Taylormade Stealth Plus driver and I hit bombs on a frozen rope with it.
I've played around with other shafts in it I've already got like the Hazardous Smoke Black and ProForce V2 and none of them keep the dispersion as tight as the LA Golf shaft. I think it's about finding the right package for the individual with the Stealth and that probably goes for most big sticks these days.
Titleist all day every day.. TM Stealth have durability issues
ОтветитьJust go for whatever works for you. I like titleist but doesn’t mean I would favour that over other brands. Go for what you like for looks, feel and performance over brand “loyalty”.
ОтветитьExtra length vs tighter dispersion....like you said it depends on the course and how tight the fairways are and how badly you are punished for missing the fairways. Also the ball you normally use will obviously make a difference, higher spin ball + the Stealth, and a lower spin ball + the TSR would probably be the best combinations.
ОтветитьGreat review as always and very fair. TSR is average at best and I am going to wait till the spring until the new Stealth2 and Apex drivers come out. Nothing to really see here with Titleist.
ОтветитьTitleist all day
I have the TSI3
Best driver ever owned
So consistent
🏌️♂️
I think the difference between the drivers comes down to Stealth Plus having the weight near the face. The forward weight helps reduce spin which in conjunction with higher launch gave more carry than TSR3. One of the downsides of the forward weight is it reduces forgiveness too. A 10° Stealth Plus head vs the 9° used in the rest would probably spin more and fly straighter but would lose a few yards carry.
ОтветитьThat’s why I don’t like indoor club fitting
ОтветитьMay be one shaft is more adapted to you than the other? Heads, at the end is very close… may be be too close to see any difference for most people…
ОтветитьAt the end of the day it depends if you are a Taylormade or a Titleist fan
ОтветитьThe VFT technology that the Titleist drivers are using isn't new. Callaway has been using VFT technology on their drivers in the early 2000s (Callaway Hawkeye VFT Driver).
ОтветитьMy experience agrees. The Titleist is more consistent.
ОтветитьAmazing how many times I’ve seen Stealth reviews where the clubhead speed is faster than its competitors. Same thing against Callaway Rogue ST. So I think it’s pretty clear it doesn’t get its extra ball speed directly because of the carbon face. But whether it’s lighter because of the use of carbon, or has superior aerodynamics due to the “inertia generator”, or a combination of the two, the clubhead definitely moves quicker in most people’s hands. And this is a good thing, because the faces are all maxxed out for speed off the centre anyway, so only way to legally increase ball speeds off the club is to swing it faster (assuming launch and spin are in the right window). But, on the flip side, I’ve also lost count of the number of reviewers who were wayward with it; where it’s great out of the middle on pure strikes but definitely less forgiving on the off centre ones. Interesting….
ОтветитьGood stuff! Hope to see some content focused on the TSR2+ 13 degree wood/the new fairway wood lineup as well! I’m interested in this whole Titleist lineup largely because the UB is an excellent fit for me in fairway woods — so getting it as one of their “stock premium” offerings for a smaller upcharge than other OEMs charge is nice.
