Audio Modeling SWAM Saxophones: Demo & Review

In my opinion... The sample thing never worked on solo strings, woodwinds and brasses
I got a lot of sampled based violins, trumpets and saxophones but they always sound weird when you try to be fast and dynamic...

Swam did a great job rendering these instruments into VI's without even sample them

Does anyone else has a problem with the sustain pedal. Mine just doesn't react with this version of swam., meaning doesn't hold the notes and I can't find anything about the sustain pedal in the option menu

Can this made poly so you can play multiple notes at the same time?

It will sound more authentic if you don't hold out every note and also don't step up or down to almost every next note.

Next generation of VST's should be a hybrid between modeling and sampling. Taking the good stuff from both worlds. The smooth transition between different dynamics of the instrument is the strength of the modeling method. However it lacks richness in the tone as a sample based VST.

Where can I find a MIDI MELODICA? I neeed a midi melodica because I am a jeyboardist and I´d like to play some breath instruments on the keyboard. If the industry could create a midi melodica, it would be a paradise for us keyboardists which like to play sax and trumpet.

The problem is still the "endless lungs". Solve it, and you´ll have one of the most perfect.

The greatest problem with this sax is that a saxophone player has a finite breath, so, each note is played with some sound and some breath ( little pauses, always pumping ). A realistic saxophone cannot the played as an infinite air supply. When I hear this here, it´s like a sax pluggued on a garden rose, an infinite air supply compressor. If you could solve this problem, it would become very realistic. The saxophone is for me, the most difficult instrument to immitate at the pianos.

Hey, you gotta be more prepared for these videos man, you can play, so it served as a good tech demo but this whole not reading manuals, not looking in depth thing is probably a bit on the side of , barely doing anything other than buying it and vaguely talkimg about it for me. Then a patreon pitch at the end lol

I fell in love with a track called "Hunter Boy" by Garoad from the soundtrack he wrote for a game called Yuppie Psycho and it has a stellar saxophone part in it. I've been trying to find something that sounds as good and this seems to fit the bill, I'm wondering if this is what he used for the song.

I alto sax player and wouldn't say that SWAM alto sounds convincing. It sounds very artificial like bad quality synthesizer. Sorry.
I think this thechnology definetly lacks of sampling.

People like what they like, but lots of good jazz soprano saxophonists like Jan Garbarek, Kenny G makes pop music.

SWAM ENGINE AUDIO MODELING has the best virtual instruments, I advise you to buy all their instruments, you will not be disappointed and they have a great team very passionate about the music that will be there to advise you.

Really like your reviews... Following for a year or more now... Just one request... You need to use a compressor and a limiter on your voice over... Because suddenly your voice becomes too soft to hear over the instrument. Specially when the listener is not using a headphone...

I highly recommend getting a breath controller for this. I use the usb breath & bite breath controller from tec-control. Low learning curve & faster expression controller than a pedal. Also eliminates the “endless lungs” typical of keyboardists using wind instrument sounds.

nice.. but you use too much vibrato.. a real sax player uses vibrato less often. (and less extreme more subtle)
