That was Heavy Orange Peel not knocked down
ОтветитьThis is great. They do sell wall and ceiling mud, won't set up as fast.
ОтветитьThanks so much for this! I sincerely like your tone and flawless instruction. I barely start to do something before I completely screw it up! This helps! God bless brudda!
ОтветитьCan you do this to walls that have already been primered (no paint yet)? Thnx...
ОтветитьDoes it need to be primed first?
ОтветитьCan I use hot mud to to this?
ОтветитьWhat is being done to get the mud to this consistency?
ОтветитьI tried to do a texture with roller and all purpose mud on non brand-drywall, experienced a problem of drywall’s paper peeling off when rolling the mud over, did a coat of all purpose mud ski thinking this might help in supporting the paper so it does not peel, tried again but same problem, how you guys recommend this with such issues, what I am missing here if any?
ОтветитьPuts search words in the title not pertinent to the video. D-Bag
ОтветитьIt looks like the old texture was orange peel and then the new texture is knock-down? Those are two different textures, wouldn't think it would look similar at all next to each other.
ОтветитьMy living walls are 22 feet tall . I can't do a one stroke from floor to ceiling. Any ideas ?
ОтветитьGod bless you! Thanks so much! - a single mom💕
ОтветитьIn a reply about sanding it says "Yes, you could lightly sand it. However, use a brown paper bag and go really gently," does it really mean a paper bag as the "sand" paper?
ОтветитьThanks man. Can’t even find the texture sponges in Home Depot I knew there must be an easier way to get a knockdown texture.
ОтветитьYour accent sounds like someone from New York state
ОтветитьWhat compound you use 5 minute 15 or 45 minute
ОтветитьLol that's hilarious
ОтветитьMud drying time does matter for the first time DIYer. You will want to practice with what ever you purchase. The mud will dry faster on unprimed or mudded drywall. I would recommend a quick sand and then prime so all your surface is at the same drying time otherwise you may get one result in one area and another result in others. Prep is your friend in all projects 👍🏻
ОтветитьGreat video with proper explanation even a cave man gets it.
ОтветитьHow did you apply this to tight corners & really tight spaces? A brush?
ОтветитьIf you want nice knockdown look with this process. Put a couple coats on and lightly sand it when it is totally dry.
ОтветитьSame process for bathroom ceiling? I am using sheetrock all purpose?
Also how do u mix up mud before putting it in paint pan?
Thanks so much for this video! I'd been searching for an easy way to do this and you explain it very well. Question: is sheetrock mud the same as joint compound? I've gone to Home Depot looking for this stuff and see a variety of products and I'm not sure which to get.Are they basically all the same? Also, I noticed some are listed as having different drying times. What drying time would you recommend?
ОтветитьI now feel confident I can do this myself. Thank you, for the link of needed supplies. Sometimes the guys in the hardware store are condescending to woman if they don’t know exactly what it is they need for a project. P.S. When I go to the link for Sheetrock mud, it goes to different supplies but doesn’t show any Sheetrock mud. Can you please tell me exactly what to buy? Is it joint compound? Is it a powder?
ОтветитьLock down the drywall first by using either a shellac like BIN or an oil based primer, then apply the mud.
ОтветитьThis is technically knocking down texture.. but this is not true knockdown texture. Just so people looking don't get confused. The picture you showed you are trying to match is called orange peal. You spray it in and walk away. Done. Knockdown gets spayed then come back and flattening begins.
ОтветитьThanks for the video
Ответитьturns out you need an incredible amount of join compound to do this. I dramatically underestimated how much.
ОтветитьGreat video! I was watching several videos because people don't explain the steps or wait time. This video made it so simple I'm going to do it myself now thanks to you!
ОтветитьHelpful! Thx.
ОтветитьPrime with oil based primer so you don't have any blistering
Ответитьfantastic video. explains orange peel/knock down texture easy and straight forward
ОтветитьDude, I have been looking for the EASIEST way to get this done. I have a small shed i'm finishing. I must have watched a dozen videos, and this one was able to show me how to get the texture I want. the consistency of your mud is spot on and this is going to make my weekend go a little better. Thanks!
ОтветитьI'm so glad you have this video up I needed it badly some guy Told me he knew how to do dry wall and messed up my whole wall
Thank you 😊
So is it still necessary to tape the wall seams before doing this or does it mean that sanding doesn't matter as much?
ОтветитьThanks, good how to. Does this process also work with the ceiling?
Ответитьit's a nice thing
ОтветитьHow many times do you prime the ceiling and walls
ОтветитьThanks HTVC, I've not done texture before but I am about to. 👍
ОтветитьExcellent. Watched a lot of videos in anticipation of finishing my roughly finished garage, and they were making it overly complicated. Thank you for this
ОтветитьFinally a video that makes simple
ОтветитьCan I use all purpose mud? In the 5 gallon bucket
ОтветитьSo you really don't need a special spackle and sprayer
ОтветитьHere in the midwest we use a hopper to spray it on...Let dry a little bit and knock it down with trowel...
ОтветитьThank this was simple and straight to the point.
ОтветитьThanks for the good info. Doesn't look as bad as i thought it would be
ОтветитьAny tips for knocking down tight areas, like a corner between two door frames? Would probably have to use a brush to apply the compound, but not sure how to knock it down to get a consistent texture. Thanks!
ОтветитьIs there a roller who can make the plaster as flat as possible?
Ответить
