he was 4s slower BUT we can cleary see he was not on the limit, he releases the throttle too much to avoid kerbs and use too much breaks. imagine this machine at the limit

The new generation F1 cars have set only 2 lap records ... LEC at a modified Albert Park and VER in Miami (of course being a new circuit). With the trend of heavier, larger, and slower cars ... the current lap records may stand in perpetuity.

Alonso, after not driving that car for 15 years and after taken 2 years off from F1 put in a casual 1;42.8! Another thing to bare in mind he’s in mediums, imagine if it was on softs. What an era of f1!
