The thing with organizing my bookshelf that i hate is i never know if i want to do it by color like this because it looks better, or by alphabet because its easier to find things.

rainbow bookshelves'd made sense if there was an universal agreement that x book genre gets y spine color e.g. romance gets red, horror gets black and so on. and i'm saying this as a person who'd lived with rainbow bookshelves. it was pretty but i completly lost any connection with my books and stopped reading at all for a long time

My shelves are organized by genre and even then I lose books in the hoard all the time 😂. I don’t have an insane amount - maybe 400 or so and I find myself thinking all the time “I have this book…don’t I? WHERE ARE YOU?”

I organise my books based on author name.

The amount of stress radiating from Madita as she started taking the books out of her shelf, not knowing where anything went, i just know Vanessa needs to watch her back now lol
