I’m not judging at all but looking at that dresser compared to the 20 long I’m 90%sure you could fit a 40 gallon breeder tank on there

if you dont have the space make space i think u can get a 15 gallon tank so u can upgrade a bit and if dont take all the beding out take half of it out and you should do a more research like more hides and more chews and look at night angle is a great also bin cages are good hope this helps

I know you can't get a bigger cage, but something you can do is get a cage topper. It just goes on top of your cage and it gives your hamster more room to run around. You should look into it.

Guess what, my hamsters cage was too small when I first got him. When I learned it was too small, I didn’t have room either. But I got rid of my tv stand for a 41 inch encloser. You make room. Sometimes you have to sacrifice things for your living animal. And yes, your hamster has that biting personality not just because of the cage, but because of the stress. The cage is too small, not enough bedding, lack of things in her cage. Just because it’s your hamster, does not give you the right to neglect it. I’m pretty late to this video, and hamsters don’t have a long lifespan. So if you no longer have that hamster, hopefully this will give you something to think about for the future. And it looks like you have a lot more room on that dresser. So I don’t even want to hear “I don’t have enough room” as an excuse. Hamster encloses aren’t their home, it’s their world.

You need to be feeding her everyday. And replacing her water everyday as well. Not twice a week. She also needs a bigger enclosure. Poor hamster.

Please do not deep clean your hamster tank! Instead spot clean, like you mentioned in the beginning.
When you deep clean, you remove all horchata's scent. Hamsters use their scent glands, which are on their sides, but on dwarf hamsters, it's on their bellies. They use their scent to mark there territory, they also use poop. The poop is scentless to humans, but i reccomend you take it out. When you deep clean their tank, you can cause their heart rate to go up to 150 per minute, and it takef from 50 mins to one hour for them to calm down. It can even cause heart attacks in the really young or the really fragile ones, they normally die from heart attacks.

Hamsters need 6 inches of bedding, if they have any less it can lead to stress. If they have stress they may do the following:
pace around the tank / run in circles
scale the tank / try to climb the tank
climb the bars(if you have a bar cage which is not reccomended)
bite themselves
ect (it all depends on the hamster)

They may be small, but hamsters need atleast 450 inches floor space. You have a 20 gallon tank, which is 288 inches. This may also lead to stress

DO NOT HAVE ANY INTERACTION WITH A NEW HAMSTER
You have to wait, if you dont you may stress the hamster, in the first horchata video, you touched the hamster right after you got it. If you look closely, you can see the hamster is running away. In the wild, hamsters are prey animals, so it may think you are a predator.
Normally, you would have to wait 3 days before interaction.
Depending on the hamster.

You know what’s stressful to her? You neglecting her needs - if she had a proper size home, then you wouldn’t have so much fecal/urine throughout to worry about.

Why can’t you get her a proper little pen area for when you upkeep her enclosure? Instead of that tiny plastic thing that she chews because she hates it..

I like how you don't take it from haters. Some people can give advice but most of them just flat on wish you the worst! If someone cursing or being angry then that's not going to do anything. You are giving your hamster a good life and I like your enclosure. It will be bad if you listen to people and just leave ur hamster outside where it will surely die but u have a safe place for it

You can not buy a hamster just so it can look cute you have to actually take good care of it and your are so bad at taking care of it you have to give her a better cage you are really not a good hamster owner you have to clean it every week not every month it probably had a better life in pet smart give it to someone that can actually take good cate of it🙄

Guys/friends, ı need yours help! My family doesn't like hamsters, I made them watch cute hamster videos for them to love them, but they say "eww". How can it be persuaded? I want to almost 2 year ago! Help.

Your hamster is so adorable, and I love the way you set her cage up! One thing you can try to do is spot clean every day. This is just clearing out the big piles of stuffing and poop/pee. Once a week, you can clean out the bottom layers where her burrows are just to make sure you are cleaning it well. This is so your hamster does not get stressed with a completely new smell, and have to put her scent everywhere all over again. I am not trying to criticize you and I think you take amazing care of her!!

It is normal that she takes all her food at once. Most hamsters do that because that is what they do in the wild so other animals don’t take their food. Also I think you should feed her more often. Like maybe if you notice that she ate all her food. Wait for a few minutes. If she goes back to check for more it means she expects you to bring her food. Don’t worry it’s normal. You should be refilling your hamsters bowl about 3 times a week so they get all the nutrients they need.

Girl this is neglect, you recognized that you know her/his cage doesn’t meet the requirements yet you say she’s/he’s “your hamster and you can do what you want with her/him
And you claim you don’t have the space for a hamster… then why get one to begin with?
And yes, the reason why your hamster is biting you is because she/he doesn’t have a big enough cage/ because of stress you were putting on her/him
