I use Hulu Live TV and it’s wayyy better than all of these. Sling doesn’t really work well during storms. Hulu Live Tv works very well and I never have issues. I would recommend Hulu Live Tv..

what i dont like about sling is if u have the blue and orange package that only one person can stream on orange and 3 people on blue. so if im watching a channel on orange and a family or friend streams on orange someone is getting kicked off streaming orange and they don't tell u if someone is streaming on orange. i think if u buy both package that 4 people can stream and no restrictions on what color or how many people can stream on that color

Sling is overpriced in the concept of getting the channels that you want. It doesn’t matter how cheap it is for these little amount of channels, when you live in a house with multiple people of different ages and genders, you are gonna need most of the packages which add up. PS Vue is the most universal and you can have up to 5 people watching at once. How are you supposed to enjoy what you want when you live with a family? Using Plex, Apple TV, and Roku with ps Vue is the best way to go. Both Apple TV and Roku have apps you can use to get the channels that aren’t offered on PS Vue like MTV, which my mom watches but she doesn’t care for live on that channel so she is happy with on demand for free.

I'm cunfused about cut the cable cuz sling and direct TV are both owned by cable companies. And u need internet y can't I just get this deals threw them in the first place with the dvr compatibility and so on it all depends what u are looking for though, I have been researching for ever now and always use to have a antenna for local channels, the biggest thing I run into is sports for me but I can pay 70 for cable and get two streaming services and win, I am paying over 220 now, now I am just getting to find the best box been stuck on the roku premiere plus, any one have suggestions, going with Rcaant751r, wingard lna if needed

Id say wait a for a promotional offer. I had Sling TV it was ok not bad but not great when it came to quality in my experience. I have directv now and I got it from AT&T on a promotional offer where I paid 35$ for three months and I got a Apple TV 4th gen for free. And I logged into it on my phone and pc and got another promotion just for logging in that Gave me HBO for free and on that I’ll only be paying 10$ in November and hopefully so on. So I could be getting it for a while year for 10$ a month and it’s only the best deal out there for me.

PS Vue operates like a regular cable service in terms of being able to use your PS Vue account to log into apps from different networks such as the AMC app. What does this mean? A lot of these network apps will give you access to their library of Video on Demand shows/movies if you have a PS Vue account and their network is part of your package.

That means whatever older show not offered within PS Vue for VOD you can log into the network's app and watch. I don't believe sling or directv now has that feature.

I chose against Direct TV Now because I was told I needed a satellite dish. I am trying out the Playstation Vue on a trial and I like it. I also looked at Sling TV and it looks good based on others reviews. But I haven't cut the cord to cable yet. I am not sure what to get for a streaming device, either a Roku or Apple TV....With a Roku, it will not have the guide for Playstation View (but the guide will still be on my iMac at least)..... But on the Roku it has PBS, which isn't available in the Vue. I am not sure if Apple TV has PBS and will look into it.

This is my first time trying one of these services, and am loving PS Vue. Since it offers most (not all) local channels in my area too, I was able to cancel both of my cable packages. The interface leaves much to be desired on Roku, and may look into 🍎 TV in the future.

I prefer to use PlayStation Vue simply because I visit the websites of those cable channels I watch the most and PlayStation Vue is the only one that is listed as a tv provider. While I may not agree on the pricing of Vue's plans (don't hate me, it most likely is standard pricing anyways with the tons of shows available) at least I can get access to those websites through logging in with the provider (PlayStation Vue).

I signed up for DirectTV Now when it first came out. I'm on the promotional "Go Big" 100 channel plan for $35/month. I added HBO for $5 as an add-on which saved me $10/month from having to pay $15/month with HBO Now. I really like that, because it allows you to use HBO Go. But more importantly because your using DirectTV Now your able to use your credentials to log into other network websites and access content. IMO all three of these services are really buggy, and have little quirks but I know DirectTV will get better and I'm going to stick with it. My Logic is Direct TV is a provider of TV service and that's something I think is to there advantage and they are able to eventually offer more perks and features over the other two services. As of now they don't have much but something like the discount for HBO shows that they have more "pull" with the major networks then the other two services. I think they have the power to potentially offer us a true alternative to cable / satellite TV. Eventually with DVR and 4K features over the other two because they have that "pull" to work out all the copyright issues surrounding this new market.

I am really loving my PS Vue. The DVR function and 5 simultaneous streams are game changers ( not offered on DTVN or STV). Also, not mentioned in this video is the channel Apps. PS Vue offers a ton. So you can download the channel apps and get access to all that juicy content. DTVN and STV offer VERY few apps you can log into. This to me was the deciding factor.

To me, the downsides are poorer picture quality compared to cable and not all the local channels. Plus, the need to buy streaming devices for each TV you want to be able to watch content on. I really wanted this to work but during the trial I noticed a big difference in PQ and would only be about 30 bucks less per month for similar package to my cable service

Great job on this! One thing any service must offer for me to "switch" is DVR-like capability (cloud or local HD) and all four major "off-air" networks (ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX). I'm not fooling around with off-air antennas and extra boxes to record (DVR) the networks - at least not yet anyway. Thanks again!

I have sampled all services. they are all excellent. Vue was my favorite, until they were forced to drop Viacom. Sling is very nice, and T-Mobile customers can get it for as low as $14 monthly.

I use Directv Now at the moment. For the AppleTV. I am not an ATT customer. However, you may want to check their Bundles. T-MOBILE has their own deal for Directv Now perks as of last week.

So far, into my 3 months prepayed locked in rate of $35 for the 100 channels+; I'm pleased.

No DVR yet is not a big deal for me, mind you. I get my local networks with my cable Internet. I have a TiVo. I watch "cable" networks pretty much live. It will be a welcome addition.
What I like most, my content travels wiith me. I can use it at a friend's house, or go mobile. That is a freedom I was looking for.

I was a cord cutter, because I decided that $70 more a month was not affordible (nor desireable) to me, being single (dish on my apt is not allowed). $35 is acceptible to me. Especially with all the channels! Many I never heard of. The On Demand could be a tad better. However, this is a new service. I will stay with them as long as they dont P me off, or another great offer comes our way.

There will be Three or more Players in the ring next year. If they have Into offers, we will see.

I've tried both DirectV Now and Sling during the trial periods. I like what they have to offer, but I can't get the local channels through those services that I can get through cable, and I don't live in a good area for OTA.

What I have found is at least for AppleTV and Roku, I can get apps for many of the channels / networks I'd watch, but not all, so cable or OTA are my only options there. the other thing I've found and currently works best for me right now is to pay for the cable package I have and to use the TV Everywhere apps for supported channels.

It's interesting that Sony, known for movies and video games, seemed to get streaming TV almost absolutely perfect while DirecTV with over 20 years of experience comes out of the gate without the ability to pause/rewind live TV and no DVR.

Frankly watching TV without the ability to record and watch later reminds me of a time before VCRs when you were forced to watch TV while it was on. Otherwise you missed it and bathroom breaks and kitchen runs were relegated to commercial breaks. DirecTV is by far the worse service of the 3. I'm sure it'll get better and will offer DVR at some point but PS Vue is by far the better service, as of today.

I'm actually a DirecTV subscriber and have every intention of canceling next month in favor of PS Vue, which works great on the Apple TV.

Direct TV does allow you to rewind and pause and fast forward in many shows that have a backward arrow symbol. I find this better than Sling TV where they have shows that you can watch in previous 3 or so days but the problem is you can't fast forward those shows and that makes it unwatchable. I don't want to wait through commercials. In my opinion, Direct TV is already better than Sling TV because of several things. It has better interface, Sling TV is terrible, it doesn't have a TV Guide that let you see like a real TV Guide does...it scrolls horizontally and you can only move from one channel at a time to check out what's on...that is annoying. Same with Playstation Vue, i think they have terrible user interface as well. When Direct TV come out with DVR, i think it will be the better of the three. Everything about Direct TV is already better than Sling and Playstation Vue imo. It has even better sound and picture. When i watch Sling TV, the sound is low and i had to turn on the volume...this is the same as watching from local channels using my antenna. The sound is just not good. When i watch live TV on Direct TV Now, the sound was impressive. Picture quality was impressive as well. So, these are the things that's important to me. Two streams is enough for me...i do not need more than that. So, to sum it up...the things that's important when i grade the service: User interface, menu, sound and picture, features all come at just $35. All other things that are missing will come later like DVR, 72 hrs rewind and other improvements....so i am not worry about that.

Something else you could have mentioned is that SlingTv gives users the choice to limit bandwidth usage, since not everyone has an unlimited data allotment at home, that could be very important.

DVR and also The Hallmark Channel are what's needed to make any of these streaming services a game changer. People forget about The Hallmark Channel until the wife looks for it. When it's not there then the you know what hit's the fan. Just saying always take notice if there is no Hallmark Channel included.

Keep in mind in cities that can get local channels the package prices are different for PS Vue.
Access is $39.99, Core is $44.99, Elite is $54.99, & Ultra is $74.99. Making the pricing between PS Vue Pricing & DirecTV Now pretty similar.

In my area Comcast's Internet only options are pretty expensive. Between $70 - $92. There are really no alternatives either. Adding one of these services and you are already paying close to the same price you will be paying for Internet and a similar Cable TV package. So I am not seeing the big savings that many people are talking about. Biggest advantages at the moment are no contracts, it's much easier to switch from service to service, & no ridiculous taxes or BS fees that the Cable companies like to tack on. At least not yet.

I would expect prices for all of these services to go up as contracts with popular channels expire or channels being dropped, like PS Vue did with the Viacom channels. Also expect more ISPs to raise internet rates and implement data caps as these services become even more popular.
