Nah this is... actually a pretty common, if contradictory, sentiment for artists. That said most individual artists don't have the power to destroy years of gaming history on a whim so still a bad look.

Just an update I noticed with this exploit. Assassin's creed revelations still attempts to open the game through steam after refunding, rendering it non-downloadable. I noticed this on a couple other games as well.

how do you find cd keys when they don't even show them ?

Heres the thing though that game code you sent back is gonna be resold on steam so some unlucky person is going to buy the game on steam and be given the cd key that's already registered to your account... if this key has been issued multiple times and this method has been used by all it's users the next person to get the code if it's limited use only won't be able to play it... if i'm not wrong doesn't that mean your just screwing other players not ubisoft themselves?!

Yeah I don’t like that they do this, but I imagine it’s pretty expensive to keep online services up for a bunch of old games. They could offer a subscription for their online servers based on the cost of maintaining them given the average player base per game. What I definitely think needs to be done is that games that solely or primarily contain online content should be free to play and/or subscription based. It’s more honest and you stop paying when the game ends.

Patched, now when you use the key on Uplay, it redirects to steam when you try to open it.
