The Red Plague is one of Subnautica's biggest mods yet, with a new storyline for Subnautica, an increased difficulty, and some new creatures such as a mutated Reaper Leviathan and eventually the plagued Gargantuan Leviathan.

Subnautica is an open world survival horror game developed by Unknown Worlds Entertainment, and is the start of the Subnautica franchise with sequels like Subnautica: Below Zero. Subnautica has an extensive modding community, with many huge mods being currently available such as The Silence leviathan, The Bloop Leviathan, and De-Extinction. There are also mods in development currently, such as the Red Plague and the Return of the Ancients mod, featuring the Gargantuan Leviathan. Recently, the long-awaited Atlas, or Beluga submarine was released.
