Phytoplankton Info- Should You Dose it?

Any tips on catching a goby. I want to get rid of him because he throws alot of sand on my corals.

Phytoplankton is what makes my nano thrive.  SPS absolutely love it, and zooplanktons reproduce crazy, which are a great source of food for so many things in the tank and they are also THE MOST important part of my clean up crew.

However, I have stopped using green water Phytoplankton and I've seen better results with Julian Sprung's PhytoPlan.  This is a powered that you mix with water and it does not expire in well over 2 years, and you don't have to store it in the fridge, which  means it's easier to use, much much more cheaper, and I've found it to be low in phosphates and I don't have a skimmer, so I'm very careful when it comes to putting food in my tank.

It's very important to not store your green water in the door of your fridge, because every time you open the door you are bringing up the temperature of the bottle.  You'd want to keep it in the lower part of your fridge and not in the door compartment.

Let Me tell You why I grow my own. I save a ton of money and it's really easy to do. I grow 3 strains individually and mix to store in fridge.

I have been learning so much from you thinking about getting into the salt water hobby ive been a freshwater guy for years and am wondering if you first set up your rank with out fish and are getting it cycled could you dose then with the plankton and copepods and will the skimmer take out the copepods just wondering

My Mandarin eats flake food but I'm sure the pods get slayed whenever he finds them haha

Why will they die at room temperature? Isn't it room temperature when people culture them?

Doc Eco Bytes actually states the opposite. On the label it says phytoplankton consumes nitrate and phosphate and produces CO2 as a byproduct...any clue about the validity of this information?

Can you feed this way to fry

new kid as well....just wondering, since it's phytoplankton we're trying to culture isn't a light cycle necessary for them? My fridge lights go off when I close the door.....so.....is it killing them? or.....?

Why would I get diatoms after using phyto? I stopped dosing but can’t get rid of these diatoms. I’ve tried a 3 day blackout, numerous WC, and Chemiclean in case it was brown cyano. Nothing is working. UGH 😑 please help thanks George

I use Reef Nutrition Phyto Feast. Over 500 Universities, research labs, and Aquatic centers us Reef Nutrition Phyto Feast. Phyto Feast is much more concentrated.

Also, dosing Phyto helps to keep other competing algae at bay. I have heard that it actually brings Nitrates and Phosphates down in a tank.

Doubt if I would buy it but since aquarium depot is throwing in a free jar I will give it a try!
