It’s not where you go. It’s what you leave behind . . . Chef, writer, adventurer, provocateur: Anthony Bourdain lived his life unabashedly. Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain is an intimate, behind-the-scenes look at how an anonymous chef became a world-renowned cultural icon. From Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville (20 Feet From Stardom, Won’t You Be My Neighbor?), this unflinching look at Bourdain reverberates with his presence, in his own voice and in the way he indelibly impacted the world around him.

I miss you, especially now! Most eclectic show that took you around the world without imposed western assumptions and let them and their cuisine speak without cencership through wrong and uninformed Western ideology. A remarkable man who should always be remembered and referenced. GOAT!!

My therapist taught me that depression isn't just a MENTAL illness, it's a physical illness . It's caused by a physical, chemical imbalance in the brain, just like Alzheimer's, Bipolor Syndrome and Schizophrenia . They're all mental illnesses caused by a physical, chemical imbalance in the brain . It's not a " think happy thoughts, or stay around positive people and you'll be happy ", kind of thing . That doesn't work . And one of the worst things you can tell someone who's suicidal is, " It's selfish to kill yourself . Think of all the people who care about you and will miss you . " You're basically saying, " No matter what YOU'RE going through, don't kill yourself because I don't want to miss you, or have to go to your funeral ." Isn't that just as selfish to say ?

Not a lot of people trully understand (understood) Anthony Bourdain. But the ones who do (did), I respect deeply. It is not a way of life, it it is not how much you have or do not have, it is not how much you are respected or not, it is not about the money, the fame, the exotic places you have travelled and the famous people you have served.... it is not even about anything you can imagine... it is about you. Just you. You who you sit next to all and treat all as equal. Shortly, please read Roald Dahl's "IF"... if you understand IF, you will underdtand Anthony Bourdain.

Bourdain was yet another version of the Hemingway archetype: macho, ornery, difficult, in love with love and with his own torment, which he carefully cultivated and courted. He fancied himself a rabble rouser, but in the end, he was merely an insecure sensitive people pleaser who couldn’t live with it.

What it all boiled down to was the age old heartbreak of a broken relationship that did him in. He traveled everywhere, had all the money he needed but he didn’t have love. That’ll tear you down every time.

I gotta be honest for the past few years before he died i got distant from his show because i thought theres something off its not them same as his old shows anymore watching this now i get it she met Asia who he thinks will give him a total happiness he fired his long time director because of this girl he trusted her with all his heart only to be crushed and ending his life for that
Lady will definitely carry her guilt to her grave never treat a person who is very vulnerable and lonely

I didn't like the fact that the producers hint that Asia Argento was the cause of his suicide
He was unloyal to ALL of his women and they didn't kill themselves.
Besides, he was an extreme narcissist dating a 20-year-younger girl.
What probably killed him was the idea of someone facing him with his getting older, among many other things.

It was one of the rare moments in my life when I was truly sad for the passing of a person whom I've never met in person, but felt like I did. I was so upset. The other day I saw him in No Reservations with rocker Josh Homme and switched the channel after a few seconds. I was so pissed that he's gone. So sorry.

A very good show. The major downer point was when the Asian guy said the show wasn’t about food it was about being a better person. He was almost choking up at that point. It almost ruined the show. I can feel my cheeks getting hot when he said that. I was so embarrassed for the guy.

Remember he was a traveler and not a tourist. By observing how his level of politically intimate inquiry grew with each passing episode and series, I see how his sensitivity and empathy for his international family made him even more depressed and helpless. He seemed to carry such needless shame over his imperfect life. I can only guess. Like so many of you, I find tears flow over the state of the world he witnessed and showed us through his eyes. I for one plan to keep getting up off of the couch and moving out of my comfort zone!
Thankyou Tony
