Android-x86 7.1 (Android 7.1.2 Nougat) New Features and Improvements
Android-x86 7.1 is ready to bring the latest Nougat experience to your PC. Android-x86 7.1 is based on the latest Android 7.1.2 Nougat release and ships pre-loaded with GAPPS, a package that lets users access most of Google's services, such as Google Play Services and Google Play store. This release also included Aptoide app manager, Play Games 3.9.08, YouTube 12.14.56, Spotify 8.4.4.810 and SnapTube 4.3.0. Additionally, the latest Android Nougat fork includes File Manager 2.0.0.355, HD Camera Ultra 2.3.1, Firefox 54.0, Rotation Control Pro 1.1.9, Gmail 7.6.4 and Google Maps 9.50.2. The key features include:
- Support both 32-bit and 64-bit kernel and userspace
- Support more new devices and peripherals via the latest LTS kernel 4.9.31
- Support hardware accelerated codecs on devices with Intel G45 & HD graphics family
- Support OpenGL ES 3.x hardware acceleration for Intel/AMD/Nvidia, VMware and QEMU (virgl) by Mesa 17.1.2
- Support OpenGL ES 3.0 via software rendering for other GPUs or no GPU devices
- Support secure booting from UEFI and installing to UEFI disk
- A text based GUI installer
- Support Multi-touch, Audio, Wifi, Bluetooth, Sensors, Camera and Ethernet (DHCP only)

Android-x86 Minimum System Requirements
Android X86 has been tested with six different systems and manufacturers. The system has installation files configured for ASUS-brand laptops and EeePCs, as well as the Dell Inspiron Mini Duo Tablet PC. The rest of the tested computers are actually tablets, including the Lenovo ThinkPad x61, the ViewSonic ViewPad 10, the Samsung Q1U and the Viliv S5. Even if your computer is one that has not been tested, you can still try out Android X86. The Android X86 developers recommend choosing a release closest to your system, or creating a target based on instructions on the Android X86 website.
