I see that I’m not the only person who says “yeah yeah yeah” 😂
In all seriousness. Great shots man. I enjoyed taking the TLR out this weekend. Been a long time since I shot 6x6.
Superb Matt !
AS USUALLY ! Happy Christmas to YOU and YOUR FAMILY !
Pics are so sharp
Ответитьhi, what light meter are you using?
ОтветитьForget about the bag, what shirt is that? LOL
Ответитьfilm is so much more 'real' it's hard to explain
ОтветитьI see this is an old video but hey, can we see more of this sort of stuff please? This is fantastic!
ОтветитьReally great video, beautiful portraits, it´s an excellent class both for portraiture and TLR photography, very useful for me, as I am about to try my C330 with 105mm lens. Thank you!
ОтветитьOnly a guy would expose their camera to falling water. Hard to watch the video while worrying about your camera! 🥶 Great Arc De Soleil music though
Ответитьmate can you tell me what light meter you are using for shooting?
Ответитьgreat shots!
ОтветитьThe Mamiya C330 is my favorite medium format camera to shoot. I find myself shooting my RB67 more often because I'm always tinkering with it and different backs, but if I just want to shoot some 120 for fun, I'll grab the C330. It's such a lightweight and versatile system.
ОтветитьGood job, Matt. I am impressed with the HP5 @3200 results!!! Please, which developer did you use for the HP5?
ОтветитьAnd now I want to buy a TLR!! This is amazing!
ОтветитьGreat shots! Great video!
Ответитьthe colors are just amazing !
ОтветитьThis was a GREAT video. I learned so much. Thank you for posting it and Happy New Year!
Ответитьwhat kicks are those?
ОтветитьWhat light meter do you use?
ОтветитьI keep looking at the C330 and the C220 on eBay and wondered if I could cope with it. One thing I noticed here is how big the camera is, it's huge!
Ответитьlove the dynamic range but it looks a bit soft to me.. maybe shooting it more f5.6 or f8 might help? I'm leaning to buy one but after this idk.. a bit too soft
ОтветитьRIP 400H
ОтветитьI really love that you talk through your whole thought process as it's happening, it really helps!
ОтветитьThe black and white roll is much better!
ОтветитьBit late to the party but I just want to say i love these shots, particularly the indoor ones with the window light. Niiiice! Interesting to see how you communicate with your model and oh how I wish I had that confidence with my metering! Thank you for sharing
ОтветитьRIP Fuji 400h
ОтветитьSadly, they just discontinued Fuji 400H. One of my favorite stocks.
ОтветитьTight portraits. Just got a Mamiya, when you push the ilford to 3200 do you have to develop differently?
Ответитьdamn those shots look amazing! just received my bronica EC , excited to start going out and shooting 120 film again
ОтветитьGood sex with filmcameras!
ОтветитьNice video. What lens was used 85mm or 105mm ?
ОтветитьWoW ! I bet those Negatives were DENSE !! 100 ASA is really too much if the film is 'Fresh' -- even on OUTDATED Fuji 400 H I rate it only down to 200 ASA. PS -- I'm a BRIT so can I be an Awsome DUDE or is only our Cousins in USA ?
ОтветитьThe compositions are so good OMG. You really put the background elements to use. I want to hire you to take my portraits.
ОтветитьSo good! I wish I was playing a yeah yeah yeah drinking game. 😃
ОтветитьYou've about got me convinced to get a 330. I shoot 35mm Minoltas and a Rolleicord but this Mamiya is awesome.
ОтветитьGood to see how you work here.
ОтветитьYo, what bag is it that?
ОтветитьWhen I did portraits with my C330 I would use the 135 lens on it for 90 percent of the time. If really tighter shot perhaps a 180 which was a better looking lens but harder to deal with. Most of the time on a tripod and stepstool for higher up head shots. Would usually shoot in early evening at f5.6 at 1/60th on 400 Kodak. Hardly ever shot without tripod (I would only use 2 rolls max on outdoor Senior pics). You might want to learn how to tilt a head as there is a masculine and feminine look to them.
ОтветитьI take this video as a reference for portrait photography. Thank you!
ОтветитьThe falloff on the close up shots with the 80 2.8 is just gorgeous! Really great stuff
ОтветитьJust bought a C330. Very encouraging. Love your channel.
ОтветитьGreat job. Enjoyed this.
Ответитьvery interesting to see you communicate and interact with the model. definitely a good lesson for me.
ОтветитьThanks for your great videos! I am new to film and I just started using my late fathers minolta autocord tlr. About pushing film: I saw your video of you overexposing the portra 400 in Vegas. Is it the same technique here with the hp5, where you just meter at 3200? And do you scan and postprocess the negatives yourself? Your pictures are sharp and awesome. 😀
ОтветитьHi Matt! Question about the HP5 shots. What developer did you use and what was the push time?
Thx dude! Love your work!
Awesome Matt, love the video, I have just picked up a C220 hope I can get some results like yours with it Thanks again
ОтветитьThose portraits are absolutely awesome. You make me want to shoot more portraits in 6x6.
ОтветитьI like using my C330 also. Makes me think more about my compositions.
ОтветитьGreat shots Matt Day. I went over to the Kodak side (from Fuji) about a year ago. Recently I grabbed some stock of Fuji Pro 400H from my fridge and I was impressed again with the Fuji colours. I feel Portra has more latitude especially in the shadows but Fuji definitely has something to offer...
