Hello, after running some tests I've upgraded the memory (2x8GB 2666mhz hyperx), m.2 SSD 1TB 3500mb/s, also installed new thermal pads and paste.

Decided to remove the 16gb one, because even after getting the same model, it wasn't running that great in dual channel, so I got a brand new kit 2x8GB from hyperx, now it's superb.

The I7 8750H is not only running cooler, but also with more performance, the 1060's also better.

Overall, temperatures are better (10-15c while gaming) and the CPU/GPU can run in higher freqs, delivering a better performance.

It is still a great Notebook to have, honestly, it's really, really fast.

As far as I'm seeing, your CPU was thermal throttling the entire time, barely went above the base clock speeds

Video is a bit old but I'll shoot my question. I've got the asus TUF gaming with this combo. My cpu is hitting 98 c temperature. It is badly impacting the performance in games. And I mostly play dota. Awful drops in FPS. I changed the thermal pads, the paste on the cpu but with no luck. And the BIOS is locked so I cannot mess with the cpu clock speeds and voltages.

As lf today on a DELL G3 im playing forza horzion 5 a very demanding game on High/Ultra details for terrain , cars , objects and some settings on medium , running a undervolt of -135mv on a i7-8750H , also undervolted 1060 6GB max q , getting 64-74 CPU temps and 57-64 GPU temps , i think for a laptop thats very good , however i need to repaste my cpu since i didnt so it for atleast 1 and a half year , maybe it will drop 4-5 degrees more so im quite happy try undervolting it works like a charm

mate, I have an Asus rog gaming laptop with gtx 1060 and an i7 8750H and in most games, I get less than 60fps, I have a cooling pad and My thermals are still around 83 degrees. in rust´I get an average of 47 fps with dips every second or so. I have the lowest settings possible and I play on 1080p pls help. Should I get a new PC?
