My cousin had this exact laptop and he carried it everywhere.. like never left it at home. A beer bottle ended up ruining it.. busted the display. He still sold it last year for $500 and some dude drove like 100 miles to get it 😮

It's literally the worst macbook pro Apple ever produced, I have an unfortunate luck to have to use it for my work and it's a pile of garbage that overheats, I had a previous comment that talked about this but I had to return to just crap on it more. For software development it's the worst possible machine you can ever get because you are under constant medium load (intellij + docker containers) and the machine just overheats, today my keyboard started typing out of order and repeating keys.

I can't believe that no reviewer mentioned horrible overheating issues and then suddenly when Apple "fixed" it with M1 it is the main news and everyone talks about it.

Three years later there is 0 repairablility score

They made a product that has SSD buck converter flaw that randomly will send 12 - 13 volts to your nand flash and kill your data and ssd and entire computer. That's why I use old macbooks. Damn, planned obsolescence is still a thing?

As an owner of a A2141 2019 i9 5500m version of this laptop I can tell you at this point, 3 years in after purchasing in 2020, it absolutely sucks. Throttling, no support from Apple, AMD drives that get worse with each update, BridgeOS issues within the T2 chip and running at ridiculous temperatures even with power reduction settings and a clean set of fans. Suffice to say, I will never buy another Apple product or fall for the patter of influencers.

Used this as a programmer for 2 years. Holy shit, the lag, getting warm in seconds...nust a terrible experience so far. It cant handle programs that a programmer need to use.

Funny this appears the same day I have been battleing all day long with this piece of sh!t of laptop with software and temperature issues after just trying to use an external 2k monitor

I have a butterfly keyboard and this laptop is from 2017 and I use it to do daily tasks and type alot on it and never broke a key

Can't hate? It's easy, just compare the pricing with another laptop at the same specs.

I mean, just use max fan while doing gaming in windows and use bootcampdrivers

This is in reality the WORST Macbook ever. Because no other Macbook has suffered from shutdowns from simply playing an HD video and doing sound editing at the same time. No other macbook has ever had a 60 degree C idle temperature on boot. No other macbook lags like shit from simply one task. The fan noise is horrendous. Forget about external dispalys. Apple even said themselves that it's normal the Macbook Pro 2019 heats up crazy and lags when connected to an external monitor, when people en masse asked in the Apple forums about it.

Ofcourse its Dbrand that puts a skin on the product ruining the video. They always do this

Bought one brand new in March of 2020 and it’s my fav laptop ever..sounds amazing and I never had a problem..do all my music production on it and I love it.it’s built like a tank and comfortable,I’m happy with intel and how powerful this MacBook is..I didn’t wanna wait till the M1 came out and I like the 16inch..I’m not malign a marvel movie lol,I don’t need that extra 5 seconds of power or whatver lol..trust me if your able to get one of these and if it’s in mint cond pick it up .. nice screen,fast computer and 2 graphic cards available inside.i don’t game on my max I use it for work and music..the keyboard is great and Touch Bar is neat..

I hate to be that guy but this is the worst computer apple has ever made. Any awesome internals are pointless with how much this machine overheats. Basics tasks are frustratingly glitchy on this.

Windows would have to be rebuilt from the ground up in order to optimize the OS as much as Apple has with their specific hardware. Since that's not trivial I don't think it'll be done anytime soon

the ONLY issue i have with this computer is how incredibly hot it gets while using final cut pro (over 100F). too hot to sit on my lap. but i'm assuming that's an unavoidable given since fcp uses a ton of power and processing

Yeah, I bought one, but is has serious thermal throttling issues, when connected to an external monitor due to the AMD RADEON PRO 5500 video card. Just by connecting an external monitor showing the desktop temperatures rise blazing fast. It seems like a driver problem persisting since 2019, and Apple did not fix it since. How about making a video on this topic Linus?

Hate how long it took Apple to finally move away from the butterfly keyboard. The Magic keyboard is just so much more reliable and actually feels amazing to type on. Hated the butterfly switches.

I am a lifetime PC user and just got my first Mac, EVER. It is this model and I absolutely love it for a laptop. Admittedly, it is a little learning curve coming over to MacOS. But I like it, nonetheless!

I super hate mine. It doubles xls files. Won’t open xls files from excel window only from file manager. It takes forever to open an application, if I can find it. Apppe products are declining dramatically in quality never mind the intentional slowing down devices through nefarious updates.

Perhaps you should "hate" it because it is overheating. My Macbook Pro 16-inch has serious overheating problems, like many other users. Google it. My old 2015 Macbook Pro had no issues at all when using the same apps. I am a Mac user for many years. Very disappointed in Apple. I hope the new Pro will be good quality again.
