I fixed the noise of buzzing and humming coming from the mic inputs. The compressor settings for the mic are different than the Master which is causing the hum. Go to Channels > and you will see in the bottom right corner Master Compressor. Ensure the settings are the same as each Channel (mic) compressor input.

I was searching for 20 hours!! You helped me figure out it was the SMB7 self noise. I needed to turn the gain db down much lower!

What if the static or buzzing is caused due to a cell call? Doing a live call in show and once the call comes in and is answer the static starts???

what should i do if the microphone is only buzzing on my MAC computer,

if i plug my same system into my windows theres no buzz at all and the microphone works fine what could be the issue

I'm trying to make CD's with a Jackery as a power source, but being near the power source is creating a "hum" as I record. Grrrr.... Thanks for the tip about the Hum-X!!!

I find that when my microphone is unmuted and I squeeze tight the XLR cable my buzzing sounds get reduced by a lot and that's when I'm maxing out the gain just so I can hear it fully when im trying to figure out what the problem is, but I just don't understand what my main problem is still. Should I get a new XLR cable?

Can you gov over specific MICS and their real time sound signal so we can confirm ours is sounding like that? For example a TLM 103 mic. I'm having a lot of static up to 30db in the recording. Really annoying. I'm almost thinking the mic has internal issues. Thanks in advance...

nice video, just funny how you have a hissing noise coming through your recording. Can hear your noise gate in between talking. Constant Hiss on the top end when you speak.

I have a wall clock next to my microphone sometime it acts like a metronome

so im using a scarlet 2i2 and an SM58 and a get a high pitch hum but if I hold the mic in my hand the hum goes away. What could be the cause of this?

my hissing noise is coming straight from my computer or my interface. Every time I turn the gain up on my interface, the hissing noise is way too loud to even record anything successfully. Why could that be?

I have a Powerline eithernet adapter that has no noise to the ear and it sits on my desk. However when I use a microphone at my set up, there’s a thumping deep constant noise coming through as Feedback. I found out that the reason that noise is there is because of the wave links sent out by my powerline adapter.

Recording with a USB mic into logic pro x our podcast episodes ( first 5 episodes w/o interface, has mic noise and lots of air ) as we were sitting in my garage and portable a/c was plugged in... Any tips on how to get a more clear episode? Should we be using a interface/mixing board? Help

I found the preparation before recording really useful, but I personaly don't like using noise gates, especialy in really dynamic interpretations, so I use the Reafir plugin that lets you remove noise 100% of the time, not just inbetween the phrases.

The issue im having is that it could be a blank project. Freshly created and there would still be a hissing sort of white noise in the background. Then that goes right into the bounce. I dont know what the heck it is

I was trying to use audacity on a surfacepro as a backup..just in case my full system decided to go on vacation. everything worked fine except for a BUZZZZZZZZZ...as soon as you mentioned something "being hooked up" I unplugged the SP from the wall...and like magic...the hummmmmmm is gone..thanks....sometimes its the simplest stuff you don't consider.

When I hit record, I get a loud shhhh in the background which persists evenly throughout the track.
I was told my focusrite 2i4 interface was the problem and to lower the gain, but that’s not resolving the issue. Would you have any ideas on what else I might try?

If you have an multiple input sound card, close all other inputs gain, it helps to reduce hiss noise
