Judging on how the game is going, I bet Mona is going to be insane when Natlan comes out. I'm expecting Natlan characters to focus fully on instant, high damage hits. We've had Diluc and Keqing come back into the meta with Dendro's introduction in Sumeru. Then we had Qiqi and Jean come back into the meta with Fontaine's need for healing. Mona might come back when Natlan needs debuffing characters. This is purely hypothetical (copium) from me

-shes good for characters who want to have one big instance of damage which werent released since eula, and even then shes outdone by furina

Acording to leaks Navia seem to be a quickswap with big E damage. Not a oneshot I suppose but still big E damage. I skipped furina to gurantee Navia and I do have mona, would you recomend running them together then?

If you are a mona fan don't freak out. If you payed attention to the background of the video there are tons of instances highlighting teams with mona beating the hardest content in the game. Sure there might be better characters for those teams, but you can forever use your favorite broke mage :)

I’m fine with them “powercreeping” standard banner characters now. It’s been three years now so yeah. Like I want Clorinde to be sorta like Keqing: a fast electro dps character.

I still use her in Morgana because I'm too lazy to learn anything else.

The balancing in this game is bad and there is little reason to use most units at this point.

mona was my first character, even before noell. she’s always going to have a place on my team 😭

What happened to Mona is she's STILL never appeared in any of my rolls in the two or three years I've been playing, so I often forget she even exists.

i have always wanted Mona and 3 years of playing Genshin, c6 Keqing and Qiqi, I still have yet gotten Mona. What the actual fish!

you missed several of monas massive issues
1. terrible energy generation
-needs a shit tonne of er to function so her own damage which should've been good takes a massive hit
-cant battery other hydros so she doesn't work well in double hydro
2. low buff uptime
this one you did mention but you missed why it's such a problem besides freeze teams
-low buff uptime means you have to cast her buff right before going onto your main dps and she has a very long burst animation of over 2s so it eats into your other buffs ie kazuha only lasts 8s Bennet lasts 12 and comes out before kazuha gorou last 9s ect ect
-the comparison to yelan and furina gave Mona way too much credit since yelan and furina cast their long-lasting bursts often as the first thing in their rotation so by the time you get to your main dps their buffs are maxed/close to maxed out
3. her debuff is on the enemies
-The new wave will require a whole 2nd burst that you will get for 15s which is funny bc this literally goes against Mona's one good team in Freeze since Freeze is meant to be good at mobbing and taking out multiple waves (venti versions)
other abilities that apply to enemies either have a short cooldown like nahida or vv or are easily re-triggerable like aggravate or vv
4. her burst animation just takes too long
this is its own section on top of what I've mentioned in point 2
-take ayaka kazuha shenhe
-Mona TECHINCALLY gives a bigger buff but she takes 2.5s+ to do her thing while kokomi takes under 1s that time difference allows the kokomi variant despite having a smaller number to finish faster since Ayaka is getting so hyper-buffed by kazuha and shenhe mona's 60% is a drop in an ocean
ok but let's look at a cheaper variant
kokomi+offensive cryo is still better than Mona +defensive cryo bc there are so many good offensive cryos to pick from and because kokomi being faster pretty much always beats Mona's extra damage

@VarsII please do a little more research before making these videos since this felt about as well researched as the average TikTok slide show but instead of being a 30s thing it was 16 minutes you managed to turn a 5 slide with one intro and one thank you slide slide show into a 16-minute video

They should've buffed Mona's C1 to include dendro reaction, like, her passive are literally meant to buff "hydro-related elemental reactions, it's blatantly false marketing.

Videos like this make me think everyone only builds and plays 2 teams. I built all 10 team slots to be unique, have good DPS and survivability. My Kuki, Nahida, Mona, Cyno team is one of my highest DPS. Granted the other top tier chars in that team. Mona contributes a lot and is fluid to use there. All my other hydro are used in teams already except barbara who isnt fluid at all 😅

Mona has been the reason i started playing back in 2020, have been maining her ever since and now that i finally got her c6 (no whaling, just lucky) ill go against the current and make her a main dps🥴

Something I’ve noticed is that in the early days of Genshin, many characters were purely burst or normal attack focused leaving their skill to not really matter much outside of energy. Bennet,Xiangling,Mona,Rosaria,and razor are some characters like this. There some exceptions like Childe, but for the most part this was the case. In more recent times, characters’ kits have become more multifaceted and both burst AND skill utility rather than just being one or the other.

Does this matter anymore? genshin is dying honkai n ZZZ, are blowing n better then genshin. Genshin has like what 1 2 years left for lore we have the ice n fire archons left then whatever content they can milk

honestly, now i could see a team consisting of Freminet, Charlotte, Mona and Kokomi working now.... due to both Freminet, shatter and cryo application, and CHarlotte's off field cryo application spam, along with Mona and Koko's hydro off field application
also I thought Anemo didn't have a reaction with Dendro O_o

She was my starting 5*, sometimes I still play Morgana to turn my brain off. Even for exploration she feels bad compared to swapping Yelan and Sayu

We always were wondering if furina would powercreep someone, but no one thought about she powercreeping Mona lol
