i absolutly love how the fight itself isnt that hard its just the cammera angle is the biggest fight

Been replaying ds3 on new game plus and I beat him on my first try. I think getting 100% in sekiro prepared me really well for this. This is nothing compared to isshina

About to give it my first try. Kinda nervous 😅😂 I beat Elden Ring and Bloodborne multiple times so I should be fine right? 😬😐
Edit: I beat the dragon fairly easy. That being said, I didn't land a single hit on The Nameless King lmao 🤣

Hitless first phase, second phase I use one estus flask and this man decides to fly across the map faster than Usain Bolt

sorry ds3 fans but looks kinda easy

i just beat this guy earlier. took me 3 hours. I almost wonder if the camera thing is deliberate, to make it more difficult, like a bully that is already bigger and stronger than you , but then makes it even more unfair by pulling your shirt up over your head before punching you in the gut.

several other enemies also do this crap , like the "pus of man" creatures (those zombies that morph into those gigantic black things with a snake for a hand". they just flail around nonsensically and then move right on top of you and their entire body fills the screen and you can't see anything or see where you are and it zooms in so close that you can't see their arm or when they are going to attack.


anyway, many guides said not to lock on to this boss, but the lock on can be useful if used at specific times, especially when he flies up in the first phase, the part where he circles around and then throws a lightning bolt at you, it's pretty much impossible to watch his hand to see when he throws it unless you're locked on to him. the trick is using the right stick to switch the lock on from the dragon head to him. but then when they land you have to switch it back to the dragon head.

he does do a thing if you stand right underneath him, sometimes the dragon flies straight up and if you seemthat, you need to book it far away as fast as you can, because it's gonna breathe fire. it only seems to do it when you are too close to the feet. like to punish you if you try to get under it to avoid the riders attacks.

i did not know you could roll to the right through the straight fire it does when it's on the ground. i kept trying to stay on the left side (the dragon's right)

that final phase seems specifically fine tuned to roll catch you. he attacks have very timy windows if you roll too early or too late, you will get hit. you have to be really perfect.

This is the worst boss fight, idc what anyone pretends to say. Fighting the camera 95% of the time is just piss poor.

This boss would be a lot less of a chore if it wasn't for the first phase being so god damn annoying. I feel like it's a waste of time because I never have a problem getting through it, but waiting and waiting and waiting for the dragon to stop fucking moving and let me smack its head on top of making me waste heals because of its AOE fire attack just gets me pissed off. By the time I actually get to phase 2 I'm so annoyed that I misstep and end up dying every time. It's not easy to maintain patience throughout this entire fight.

Honestly I don't really need help with this guy, especially not in the first phase. But it still pisses me off that I can't fully dodge the Lightning sword smash attack he does in phase 1. Its not even affecting my ability to beat him, but damn its annoying to see him wind up that attack and know I'm going to eat damage. Does anyone have any info on how to dodge that move? I tried going underneath and it hasn't worked so far

Dragonslayer Greatshield makes this fight trivial.

From Software needs to get into the habit of actually making sure their games are finished and programmed correctly before they release them. Half of this boss fight isn't even challenging... it's objectively programmed poorly. I can't tell if they do this on purpose to counterintuitively screw over the player through artificial difficulty, or they just keep hiring extremely bad programmers...but this boss fight is so obviously half-assed from a programming perspective.

I can easily list 5 broken things in this boss fight and that's coming from someone who actually has knowledge of programming and can point all of these flaws out from a technical standpoint. Nothing is worse than fighting a boss you KNOW you could actually defeat if it weren't for all the technical problems forcing you into a corner.

The second phase is kind of easy ngl, especially if you have strong pyromancy. The king himself is weak to fire so one chaos ball can do 600+ damage per hit. First phase is much worse.

Absolutely horrible. The boss fight first phase is so horribly designed and with the camera to. I stay close to the dragon but he still jumps up and breaths fire which is impossible to evade without taking any damage. This boss fight is overrated

Fuck this fight. Its the dumbest shit ive ever played. Fucking inbred chicken making my camera give me whiplash. Then as soon as it steadies i can speared faster than i can blink. Then when i kill the inbred chicken, i gotta deal with this off beat fucktard that catches u midroll every time u try to dodge. 4 hours ive wasted, ive deleted ds3 and redownloaded bloodbourne. DS3 IS ASS

Bruh the attacks he throws at you in the second phase, I never got💀 he just does giant heavy ass attacks and kills me instantly

Sure the boss looks as good as the series has to offer, but the fight is easily the worst in the entire game

With the dragon part there are times where the camera makes it look like the head is right In front of you, but it’s not. So you use your stamina trying to hit it but just whiff the air. When this happens it’s so frustrating to me I rage quit on the spot. How are you supposed to win the fight when you cannot trust what you’re seeing on screen to be accurate. Anything can be anything.

I really hate this boss.
Camera angles in first stage mess me up more than I mess up myself.
The dragon keeps his head up, so most of my attacks just won´t hit.
But the first stage is manageable.
What really frustrates me is, that even on Vigor 40, I just can´t stand more than 2 hits of that guy and at the same time, the guy tanks even +10 Greatsword hits like a champ, with ultra poise even when being hit by fully charged attacks.
