Alex, 20% text rule is no longer required. The new recomendation is to set text in the viewable are of each format (avoiding that yellow margin lines) for best performance since text is overlayed with other text information if not applied. Oh, great contents by the way.

I'd really appreciate it if you could share some advice.

So me and my team make 3D product renders and animations for brands and e-com stores that sell physical products online. Most of our clients are either inbound or from freelance platforms, we've made visuals for their website, socials, and amz/shopify stores.

6 months ago we got into outbound. Started reaching out to brands via email and social media and got a few booked calls but all the prospects had price objections since our prices are higher than those selling the same services on freelance platforms and we didn't have a clear offer and no proof of results (eg. 30% increase in CTR) so I believe they didn't see the value.

Most of the visuals we've been making influence sales indirectly and we can't promise them results in a certain time.

Fast forward to now, got to know about offer creation and value based pricing. And the two ideas I had were:

1) Transition into an ad agency and combine CGI with copywriting and ad creation, helping brands who are already running ads on social media improve their ad creatives.

2) Serve e-commerce brands by improving their images, since their sales are directly tied to their visuals.

Both of these would require us to learn/improve on new skills like (copywriting, ad creation, graphic design, video editing etc) and editing images for amazon is not fun 😅

What do you think would be the better way forward? Could there be any other options than the two I mentioned? I'd love to know your thoughts.

Perfect hook, value proposition and clear CTA

Ads like this only work if you have high margins. If you have slim margins, your ads can't scream "ad!" by having text layover and social proof logos. To get dirt cheap clicks on FB your ad needs to look native to the platform and generate a ton of engagement in the comment section.

Ironically, copywriting was the last skill I acquired in marketing. Before, I had worked with paid traffic and lastly metrics analysis. So for me, it is ok to work with all this together. I like it, it gives a very broad vision.

100% agree that as copywriters we shouldn’t worry at all about running digital campaigns - but rather create connections with digital marketers who may need a copywriter to help assist with writing the copy for them!
