I just got my first dehydrator. I would love to learn how to make apple pie from dehydrated apples.

I’ve taken the plunge into pressure canning and I’m hooked. This is my next investment. Just waiting on the stimulus $$’s. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Can you dehydrate in the oven? And what kind of dehydrator do you have? Thanks

I use a "peeler-corer-slicer" gizmo which makes the whole process easy peasy. My family loves them with a light sprinkle of cinnamon sugar before dehydrating. Love your videos!

Hey Carol enjoyed your video very much. I have dehydrated apples and they are delicious and the grandkids like mine much better than the store-bought ones.😊 Just recently purchased a freeze dryer and I’m anxious to try the apples out in it. Have you thought of a freeze dryer?

I did this with apples and strawberries and hated the rubbery texture. I ended up putting them in the compost. 🤮 texture thing ❤️❤️❤️

I’ve never had dehydrated apples, do you cook with them or just eat them as a snack?

Thanks for the video! How do you wash your trays? Do they clean up easy? When do you use the silicone mats?

The best tool for coring apples is using a melon baller after cutting the apple slices then use the melon baller and you will have much less waist and more apple saved. I’ve posted on Facebook this method and I’m the first to use this so it’s called Laurie’s Coring Method

Great video! I just picked one-third of the apples on my tree today. I can't leave them on the tree to ripen to become sweeter because the birds and crows know the exact time when they are ready to eat too. They are not sweet so last year I made a lot of tiny jars of applesauce with the smaller apples and bags of peeled slices shaken in cinnamon and brown sugar and then frozen to make into pies, cakes or muffins, etc. This year I remember I inherited a large dehydrator that I have been using for veggies and making potato hash browns. I have limited freezer space as they are full up with other goodies, so thought I would make slices and dehydrate.

You've given me the exact information I wanted. I was only surprised that the anti-browning lemon water is rinsed off. OK. Maybe not so tart then. Tomorrow I will start the production line going with sprinkling slices with cinnamon and brown sugar, some with cinnamon and white, and some without any cinnamon or sugar to experiment.
I have a lot of Mason jars and also Foodsaver vacuum bags and also jar vacuum sealers so all excited about this next project. I'll then have to pick more apples before the crows get them for the next few days.

Thanks again for your inspiration and easy hints. I also have some Citric Acid Food fresh powder to try too along with just the lemon and water dip.

I am not a picky eater at all and I always try to eat healthy but for some reason I never enjoyed apples! I don't mind them, but I hardly ever buy them. I just got a dehydrator and I hope that by dehydrating apples I will start to eat them a bit more often.

Don't molest your food with things like silicone dioxide, a neurotoxin. If you go through all the trouble of making great food, keep it natural! 😘
