Also have you tried Krimh Drums Free? Haven't used it yet but the preview sounds pretty good
ОтветитьHey brother.
Are you taking production bookings?
Killer sound!
God those drums sound so massive...bad ass man!!
ОтветитьDude you are an Engineer(Hellraiser reference)!
ОтветитьYour drums and guitar sound killer. You should have used the Dingwall in the Modo and the bass needs to come up in the mix.
ОтветитьCool stuff!
ОтветитьI add air and dimension to my drums in the old days I'd use Cubase SX Quattro Fuzz/BBE sonic maximizer VST compressor/expander but now I would use Valhalla's main Reverb. Makes them sound massive if you have time to score I don't but if you do a good keylab from arturia and monster drums with a usb midi signal sounds really good! For bass I use solely R Bass from Waves Diamond. The reverb must look like steps and going up and then you need like a decent reverb selected. something massive. Something like toontrack EZDrummer is good to use as well especially the latest one.
ОтветитьLine 6 Helix native plugin is the best. for tone shaping. one channel overloud TH-U the first one the 2nd one has to be mixed with like Guitar Rig 6 to sound good. Bias 2 is okay as a one channel amp I wouldn't use it for the finished sound same can be said about TH-U v2 however their are some Metalcore 51 presets that are killer on Guitar Pro 5 and 6. I would use those for metal tone. That free Djent amp from Steve T is pretty good too as a template to build a rig off of. you'll need a good quality gate if you use his.
ОтветитьIm a total noob, what do you get if buying the template?
ОтветитьThank you. Drums sound amazing.
ОтветитьDoes the MT come with Drum preset samples or do you have to play everything from a midi controller?
ОтветитьYou should check out Monster Drums VST especially the RacikSuaraMetal preset.
ОтветитьYour drums sound like they are clipping hard, dude. Or maybe you added gain? Not sure but It sounds like a mess to me. Oh you did add a ton of gain at the end with the GClip plugin. That's why it sounds like someone put their elbow on the master fader and accidentally added 12db lol. Cause it's brickwall limiting. Do modern Djent mixes use brickwall limiting? I thought this whole genre was about dynamics? Ghost notes and pretty little jazz chords that they steal from Alan Holdsworth. I don't know, maybe this is a style choice? But I think it sounds terrible. It sounds like the kick is in one room, snare is in both and cymbals are in another. It doesn't have cohesion. Wouldn't you rather have clear instrument separation? Rather than just a bunch of loudness? Perceived digital loudness and actual loudness are too different things. I dunno I don't like it.
ОтветитьSubbed bro. This is an excellent template! I did something similar and used the same approach with the bass except i used the Ample Bass II lite vst. You've definitely inspired me to check out the mt powerkit again. Cheers man!
ОтветитьI'd really like to grab that kick sample you are using in this!
ОтветитьI've been recommending MT Power kit as a free drum VST for years.. great little plugin.. nice mix.. great video
ОтветитьNot trying to be snappy but is it really 'free' if you're using 99/239/579 USD Cubase (depending on the version)? Mixing in Reaper would be considered 'free'
ОтветитьIf you're interested in making something 100% free, there's this guitar vst called metal gtx. It goes to a low G iirc, and while it may not be as good as odin, I'd argue it's comparable and really worth checking out.
ОтветитьThe MT Power Drumkit samples are forever ingrained in my brain after using them for almost 10 years.
Ответить🎉🎉🎉🎉
ОтветитьAlthough not free, kvlt drums by ugritone is pretty damn good, especially if you can hook it up to an ekit, i really love their snare options
ОтветитьThe MT-Powerdrummer was the first plugin I got and I haven’t looked back. I started using the heavy metal drums from GGD but I still prefer the MT-PD over it
Ответитьyeah but the guitar and audio interface cost money
Ответитьhmmm wasnt expecting that & it did not suck
ОтветитьNice video! But where did you get that bass amp plugin? Cant find a Green Terror on the Internet. Probably im just being stupid, but it would be awesome if you told me how i can get it!
ОтветитьHey man! I just want to ask you if you use Cubase only or maybe you could do a similar video with Reaper too? And if not, which version of Cubase are you use here?
ОтветитьMT power drums, those samples have haunted me for decades.
Also, Ignite Emissary and ML Drums are my favourites here.
No hate but why do you lip smack alot. Gives me heebie jeebies
Ответитьbomb!!!
Ответитьthe kick its a bit too much i would directly eq the mt kick into having mor low end thats what i do
ОтветитьWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
ОтветитьSounds very Mick Gordon Like good job!
ОтветитьCan this work in fl
ОтветитьGreat stuff.
Ответитьwhich works on fl studio ?
ОтветитьWould this work on Ableton?
ОтветитьCan you make a oneshot of the combined snare too?
Ответитьthat midi trickery is a big brain move, nice one 🔥🔥
ОтветитьFor free bases I would recommend the Wilkinson Audio Zombass line. I guess you need Kontakt but still excellent sounding basses for all genres for free.
ОтветитьModo Bass 2 is $199 when I search - how'd you get it for free?
ОтветитьThank you !!! This is awesome.
ОтветитьNice
Ответитьhow do you avoid getting hiss or fizz when you make a tone with emissary, i'm unsure why but i always have this issue
ОтветитьThe use of the two drum plug-in "trickery" is genius, and I'll admit - way beyond where I'm at in my production skills. How did you replace MT Power Drummer's crashes with ML's, or were the midi cymbal parts actually performed separately (separate tracks)? I have both plug-ins, and think they are both excellent sounding free drum plug-ins. Overall what you've done here sounds amazing!
ОтветитьRyan Gosling
ОтветитьThis is so impressive. I'm going to be honest, I know what a compressor does and the theory behind it, but as to how to use it in practice? Way over my head.
Ответитьwait how do you get that guitar tone
Ответитьcreated a masterpiece for fun
ОтветитьWhen I used to use free bass plug-ins and pitch proof, I would do -12 semitones, but do like 70 percent wet because you still have the clarity of the original notes while getting that beefiness you want from the bass. As well as you still have most of the full sustain
Ответить
