Ideology and Subconscious... Tyranny trying to warn us all along eh?
ОтветитьSometime in the 2030s, Tyranny will get the same treatment that Baldur's Gate 3 got.
Ответитьsweatshops exist because they provide higher paying jobs than are available to the people that work those jobs.
Ответить"A 20 hour game" am I just a slow reader or something? I just finished my first playthrough and that took 77 hours.
Ответить2 years later and still no planescape torment :(
ОтветитьI went up with making rebels my vassals (you can make them swear loyalty) and then being loyal to kyros
ОтветитьStill waiting for that Torment video :(
Ответитьso, the "couldn't play a loyalist in the initial release" thing made a lot more sense if you thought about it, but should have had someone look at the camera and spell it out.
No matter how loyal the PC Archon [oopsie poopsie, spoilers!] was, they were too competent for Kyros to let live. Loyalty isn't sufficient, they also want servants who are too incompetent to rise above their station. All indications are that you had in fact thwarted Kyros' intentions by fulfilling the escape clause of the edict and not just having you, Nerat, Ashe, and the rebels be instakilled.
I agree on monstertypes. I didn't realize it when i played it the first time. I really liked the game. But I agree, on second thought you miss all the fantasy stuff, if there are only human.
And I also wished you could at least encounter Kyros and have an epic endboss fight.
Nobody ever mentions how similar the plot is to "the black company" books by Glen Cook, to the point that the voices of kyros is basically soulcatcher, down to the multiple voices thing
ОтветитьFuck yeah Sam & Max music, let's goooooo
ОтветитьTyranny is great in concept. I hope the series gets revived someday. I found PoE2 far more compelling with better combat though. Not sure if it’s even fair to compare them even if they’re made by the same company since Tyranny was made on such a short schedule and feels like 1/4 of a full game.
ОтветитьHow have 403 trillion people seen that simpsons video, and I’m not one of them?
ОтветитьI swear that's Barthandalus from ff13
ОтветитьOne interesting thing that I liked was the fact the the Disfavored are overtly, unironically and explicitly racist. Because it becomes an issue you have to contend with when allying with them and trying to get them to make nice with the Tiersmen. You need to deal with the explicit chauvinism they feel against the local people, their customs and their culture. They view the population they're surrounded by as being below them and a big part of whether you're able to deal with Graven Ashe peacefully is getting him to realize that there's something of value to be gained from bringing the Tiersmen into the fold of the Disfavored
ОтветитьHonestly I feel like Tyranny has good world building, a great amount of background lore, and Kyros is such a cool idea for a villain along with the other characters. But its put into a small unfinished mediocre game.
If you took the plot from this game and used it for any other game it would be godly. Amazing setting
Damn that voice acting intro. Who is that?
ОтветитьNah c*nt, screw gog
ОтветитьYOU SPEAK TO FAST MAN, CALM DOWN !!!
Ответить.......smite lore lady? Whoa
ОтветитьIn case anyone comes across this comment...
I've been considering playing this game, but there is one little very tiny tidbit that is a massive turn off for me, and it's right near the start of the game. It's why I deleted Pathfinder Kingmaker 20 minutes into the game.
Does this game start with abysmally low chances to hit an opponent? In Kingmaker mentioned above, I'd start shooting my crossbow or swinging my sword at an opponent literally knocked down on the floor at point blank and the bolt just goes at a physically impossible route. So I deleted it.
On the other hand, Divinity Original Sin also featured relatively low chances to hit at the early game, but these chances were acceptable, around 60-70%, compared to the 5-10% of Kingmaker.
So yeah anyway it's a really really weird nitpick but I'm wondering which of those two is Tyranny closer to, before I decide to play it.
Such a great game. I played it for the first time only recently and started a second playthrough today.
ОтветитьKyros' Peace reminds me a lot of the Pax Romana (the Roman Peace), where the unstoppable invader comes to "civilize" the "barbarians".
ОтветитьThank 😢
Ответитьusing third strike main theme for background music epic! thumbs up !
ОтветитьHow do you guys manage these huge amounts of lore in this game? I feel like a dumbass at school before a test in these games 😔
ОтветитьJust finished this game myself and fuck me, even though all of my active companions had maxed out loyalty I missed literally every single companion quest. I didn't even know they were a thing.
I talked to them pretty often but nothing ever triggered a quest nor did they ever just pause the game to talk to me and offer one.
I loved this game, but I think it was much too short...
ОтветитьThe LP archive has a great screenshot LP of Tyranny that also includes some amazing mini essays on the themes of the game. It's really good.
ОтветитьWe need more bronze age rpg’s
ОтветитьSounded so awesome til you mentioned how it drives you back on the rails of a Chosen One Usurper. Sounds like a big disappointment.
ОтветитьCould you imagine someone like Saul Goodman on the Tyranny universe?
ОтветитьThis game gives me an idea for another one, hear me out: you play as a "people's reperesentive" to an evil over-lord's court... only to descover that the reason they're so evil is because your bright, colorful, magical world is more "Warhammer fantasy", then "Final fantasy". Now it's up to you to try to help the over-lord navigate these threats, and more offten then not play public relations, in the hope that you'll all live long enough to see the prophetized golden age!
ОтветитьTyranny 2, please, MS.
ОтветитьFrom my understanding on the three faces of power.
1. What they are allowed to talk about
2. What they will talk about
3. What they want to talk about
You can’t tell me what the villain in pillars wants??! It’s the main culmination of the story, you spend the entire game unpicking what they want - what they want is the main revaluation at the beginning of the final act
What!
Good video as always, that just tilted me behind belief XD
For 400 years, the 4 nations lived in peace. But that all changed when the Fire Nation attacked.
ОтветитьNOTHING prepared me for when song implied the voices of nerat use's "adult urges" on a baby
ОтветитьExceedingly few games have ever made me enjoy playing a character on the side of evil. I suppose Dungeon Keeper might be counted... but it falls so far on the cartoonish side of evil, it hardly counts, mm? And GTA, well, that's essentially satire. The awfulness of the characters offers cathartic mayhem and perhaps a caution to avoid those paths, ourselves. But Tyranny, now there's a game that makes you go "Is it really more harmful to assist the last bit of conquest, if it can bring peace and some equality?" And there is no easy answer. Arguments, valid ones, on both sides.
ОтветитьAll hail kyros. If she or he was real i would follow her of him to my Death.
I don't want to get edicted.
Tyranny is interesting, because it teaches a good game design lesson: you have to be very direct with how you show a world, because if you tell people, "these soldiers are elites" through hearsay, and then immediately show that may not actually be the case through context, people get confused to the point where it diminishes the game.
ОтветитьI absolutely detested this game, because I found so many of the party companions and NPCs to be utterly insufferable.
'Yes, yes, you're a scary, crazy barbarian person or whatever... I am so bored with your endless edgelordery and whining about the other naughty evil badguy twats I've got stuck with.' Eventually I did everything I could to get everyone killed, then I got sick of everyone trying to out-cruel each other (whilst being unbearably thirsty for my approval, which was... off-putting) and uninstalled it.
The story, basically - not for me. The game from an aesthetic standpoint - fantastic. Love the art, music, acting, and it's a well designed game... but this one wasn't aimed at me, plotwise.
