Watch Out For These Grand Exchange Scams! [OSRS]

If someone is selling such a high-ticket item like the BGS or Inquisitor's Mace, idk why they wouldn't just type out the entire number for the price they want to sell it at. How much time are you really saving by typing "M" instead of a few zero's?

It's easily fixed by just coding the GE to sell your item to the highest buy offer over your put in price, if you sell it for 1 coin, and there's a buy offer wanting to buy the item for 20, it sells to him, easy

The system shouldn't work that way. It should place buy orders like an ordinary player, and it should be filled like an ordinary order

I made 100k asking for people to buy me a rune kite shield after hitting the buy limit because I had accidentally high alched my own for money in F2P. In the end literally nobody bought me the kite shield they just handed me gp since they thought I was a begger or scammer and I had to wait 4 hours before I could do the Bryophyta kills I wanted to do.

I hate that there's a buying limit scam. I have 400k buckets of sand because people were kind enough to help me out, fuck those scammers. I guess it's not exactly obscure, but even today people still tend to ask why I want them XD.

In the rabbit foot scam, how does the scammer still get away with the 500K? You never traded him, he logged out. If you went to resell them on GE, anyone can buy them? It doesn't mean that he will get them? Not really a scam is it? Just a dog move to do? Or am I missing something?

someone just now asked me for 30k feather and offered 200k and asked if I could buy some since they reached the GE limit lucky for me I had that many from slayer grinds and they gave me 200k for the feathers then they asked if I could buy them more 4 hours later their reason is they’re in a xp race but I added them to the ignore list haha

Question: I did some flipping today and the margins on items were rather good but the 1 percent tax made it so it was terrible margins, is flipping basically pointless now?

He says selling bank 8-9m wen u look at what there selling they have some dragon gear cheap stuff and 2 k metaphyte potions as well witch is 12 m of potions people think its a good deal but the potions don't sell not even for 2k u loose over 6m on this deal and people are falling for this a lot

I’ll never forget my first and only time getting scammed… before GE, world 2 in fally. I was selling stuff to get money to buy a whip, this guy said he was selling torags legs for over market value, and there was another guy trading whip for torags legs plus 100k (significantly cheaper than market value) me being very young and naive thinking no one else put 2 and 2 together and saw the good deal opportunity, I obliged, bought the legs 2-300k over market value, found the whip guy, traded him and he logged out. 11 year old me proceeded to cry realizing I’ve been duped…

Only reason for a GE sink is to keep prices high so people buy more bonds. Its greed.

Merching clan kinda works with the GameStop stock, during that event. The people at the bottom buying it will make not much at all or lose money.

I realize this vid is a few months old but I want to add to the "buy limit" scam, unless its a trusted friend never buy anyone items they have buy limit for unless they give you the cash up front. That way you do not pay more than what they gave you and they can't scam you

I actually hit my buy limit...and I do ask people to help. I can't afford membership on 4 accounts to constantly hit my limit to keep up profit.

Eve online allows in game scamming and I agree with the idea. It’s most prevalent in large population areas just like the real world. It adds to the big city feeling of these areas.

looking at the item sink its gonna result in the ge being almost completely useless. people are gonna stop selling to the ge if they get taxed on it. or if the item sink randomly makes items worthless they wont wanna chance it,

There are definitely people on rs3 that do the buy limit scam, but I also regularly see regular players offering to overpay for obscure items they hit there limit on that are legit too, almost always something they need to disassemble for invention components though.
I tell my wife not to help them unless she is very familiar with the item or it is a clannie, she has only been playing for maybe 2 years,so she is still very new to the game.
That being said I've sold 100 zamorak mjolners for 30m multiple times to people at the ge, and it was safe for me to do that because I knew there value,that I could use them myself or get rid of them for no loss, but if you don't know the items value it is best to just leave it alone and they can wait
