I am part of the 10% I love learning how to make things, be it hardware, software or mix (I am a computer engineer), starting my first full time corporate job (electronic design mixed with embedded) Its my first non internship engineering job, so I hope to make the most out of it
Ответитьive only found engineering book 2 weeks ago looking at books only started reading this year at 35
i dont have money to get practical ...yet but i find thats quickest way to learn for me & safety with electrical circuits
but i c decent things i could use it for & make money without needing a job in it im not doing a course or uni i red so many have issues finding a job in the feild & i dont wana b in debt or have any money
plus book im reading doesnt think we need it either its quite hard reading without money & my health isnt 100% to put to much effort into it
but i know of things i can do with it guy i watched doing multiple consoles within 1 is great i could sell & also doing other things when i get into cars flipping it using scraps at times & not requiring everything on book once im aware how to put it together
& some stuff im do as my own detetcive i need to understand hacking electronics & other things i can make money on side in near future from & doing other cool things maybe my own aircraft in future also & hooverboards & weapons as i dont like following rules & listening to anyone really & am aware of whats out there as u build finanically
enginnering elctrical/machanical,computer foresnic, law, natural medicine herbal ,building & few other things i look to do in near future as i look to live as independant as possible ooh learning how to do ur own taxes is important also u c so many people get done for tax evasion & fraud cause they relied on some dodgy guy payed by rivals its best u learn it urself to aviod alot engineering tho is awesome looking at book i got
the boring stuff learning it from stretch tho lol hoping within 2024 ive got my equipment & im already doing a job is boring tho
Just starting my engineering career but am not good at maths what should I do
ОтветитьI should have heard this before I spent 40 years of my life in the trade!
ОтветитьTamer, thanks for emphasizing the "doubt" element. I have been feeling the same.
ОтветитьIm a comb of the 3 tips of engineering students 😂😂😂😂😂😂, i knew Wanted be rich , only like Math and sciences, since was a kid i wanted create things😂😂😂😂😭😭😭
ОтветитьStarted already but funny to read this/
ОтветитьI appreciate this so much but the now the competition grew 1,000 while watching its now harder for me to get where I want to be
ОтветитьI do not think engineering is worth it, you have to remember that only 25% get the proper interesting jobs in engineering. the remaining 75% goes into something completely different, usually underemployed. People have to remember that the market is very saturated, unless you are the top 30% of engineering students odds are you will be underemployed with a mediocre to bad salary. Many jobs dont actually require an engineering degree to do the work so it is not worth it. If you belong to the "bottom" 70% do not study engineering. Tips from a bsc in engineering.

ОтветитьI have been an engineer for 38 years, at different levels of course… 1. If you love learning new things, make sure that you hire into a company/project that gets you what want to learn. Once that is over or going into maintenance mode, make your wishes known, don’t allow them to stick you in a the long term maintenance job. (Unless that is what you want) boredom sucks. If you don’t see action in a couple of months or the management weasels on you, be prepared to get out. BTW: No warnings about leaving. Most companies will low ball raises, so there is another good reason to find the door. It may take time for the next job to appear, so no letting it slip out to coworkers. Only look for job that will get you where you want to go. 2. Make a 5 year plans, review/update every year after your review. This is not for specific goals and timelines, it is a means for to gage what you just did against what you thought you wanted to do in your plan. Either change the plan or the company. 3. There is no such thing as a company being loyal to you. (Yes there maybe more unicorns in the the world than are companies that are loyal to their workforce) I may have limit that sentiment to American companies since that is what I am familiar with. 4. Open work spaces are really difficult to do head down hard thinking work. Make sure you understand your limits for interruptions and choose a company that is closest to your preferences in working environment. Sometimes you don’t really have choice but…
A question every person needs to answer for themselves, do you love solving problems or do they anger/frustrate you? If you don’t enjoy solving problems, engineering may not be for you. If you got into engineering for the pay and are unhappy now, switch jobs, go take a course or two, and find a new job closer to what you like. Your engineering training isn’t wasted, it shows you can think and that never hurts. And who says that you can only do one thing for a career?
Sorry for blathering on… it’s something I have lived and observed in other engineers over the years.
After 30 yrs of engineering I can say those open offices suck, just lots of noise and people watching you hard to even do your job, there will never be enough engineers willing to work for 20k a yr, No matter the number of changes a client makes, the dead line tends to remain the same. Network its the way you find out about the next job. The number of times I've seen companies try to make you responsible for more than you are is way higher than youd think, I've lost count of the number of times I was ask to give the absolute minimum number of hours the job would take only to have them reduce it (so always pad your estimate). Every company that ships work over seas the % will only get bigger even if they say it will not, one went from 20% of a project by the time I left we were sending 50%. Because even if they made a total mess of it they were 20/day vs 50/hr. You will only be as good as your last success but most of all you are always expendable (yes I was the guy who was always 1st in the office and still cut) I'll also toss out every one that left the field made more money with less stress else where. Just my two cents
ОтветитьI'm a senior in hs right now, and I've always been set on a business major. but just last week during college application season I had a whole crisis to become an engineering student. I always liked building stuff with my hand and designing although I don't do it often. I mainly just want to go super fast whether it be cars or planes. Idk if I should apply to colleges as a business major or engineering and what type of engineering. currently, I'm deciding between mechanical or aerospace if I do switch to engineering. I'm scared that I haven't prepared myself experince wise to get into any school if I choose engineering.
Ответить23yrs Old stuck in Physics with Calculus one in my electrical engineering course. That’s where my life is right now.😢
Ответитьif i want to take the FE EXAM to work in IT department , which major in these should i pick ?
( FE Chemical \ FE Civil \ FE Electrical \ FE Environmental \ FE Industrial \ FE Mechanical \ FE General )
Man I wish you made this video when I started college. Such a good video.
ОтветитьWhen Tesla is not actually on the glad side of this spectrum LOL
ОтветитьThat doesn't change the fact that 5 out of the 10 top richest people in the world studied engineering tho
ОтветитьFor those in high school looking at engineering degrees:
I graduated with a BA in Aerospace Engineering. Figured it was something I was really into coming from High School and I wanted to challenge myself. My concept of engineering at the time was being presented with a problem and then being tasked with solving said problem from the ground up. That is not necessarily what engineering is. 95% of what I was taught in college centered around someone else having a solution and me validating or changing small parameters for their solution to work. Most of that involved understanding when materials would break, how to calculate stresses and strains through complex models, and then change them to meet safety regulations. By the time I graduated college, I despised engineering and only stuck with it because AE was difficult and I could say I did not quit. I work at a job where I fly planes now instead of design parts for them. I do not want to work in engineering and hate the concept of going back to any sort of college. Not everything is perfect when you graduate and just because you have a degree does not guarantee you a job or happiness. Its rough and I wish you luck.
As a solution, I highly recommend you take a few days to find the job that lines up with your aspirations and BE flexible during your first year of college if you go that route. Do not be afraid to change your degree or dropout if it is not working. If you don't want to be behind a desk for the next thirty years of your life, find something that can take you elsewhere for a while and then circle back if it lines up again.
(Edit: Wanted to share this to show that some people don't find happiness and regret their choice of college/degree. Take the time to look at both sides of the coin. While I am unhappy with my degree and education, there are probably twice as many people who enjoy these fields and would recommend it.)
My brother is a mechatronic engineer at MIT and he is my inspiration.❤❤
ОтветитьHello, if i want to learn mechanical engineering but not so good at math.. will this be a problem for me or do you learn and understand over time? thank you
ОтветитьWe have the same second name 😂
Ответитьtoo late i have already started
ОтветитьIn which university did you study engineering?
Ответитьvery useful tips
btw pfp very smart and cute
The
ОтветитьI chose mechanical engineering and my college will start in two days I'm confident about my choice but a little afraid of what I'll be doing in the future
ОтветитьOkay may jobs are good exactly but it not easy
ОтветитьI’m tryna get a internship in high school with Pratt and Whitney. I’m a junior rn but hopefully I can get it as a senior.
Ответитьim 12 rn & im planning on Doing biomedical engineering or mechanical engineering but idkkk I feel like it’d be too complex for me 😭
ОтветитьI have introduction to engineering as my first elective and it definitely is a lot especially with no knowledge of it prior.
ОтветитьI really hate filling bombs
ОтветитьHello brother! I am a 12 year old female, i want to learn basic things.. About engineering, (Thank you for this video!) I should really focus on math more, however.. I do not know what to learn to become an engineer at a young age.. Could you tell me what to know? I want to practice everything, i do not want to fail, hopefully i wont.. Please answer, thank you!
ОтветитьYou have such wonderful charisma. I'm a red seal carpenter that loves to drive equipment like the time I drove the largest Ariel Work Platform I've seen ever over an active scale. I've always loved how to make things with wood and I'm trying to get into adding my love for engineering into my 20 years of being a carpenter. You seem like you do so much research and present it in such a wonderful way. My daughter is 2 and I started watching Mark Rober videos so I can learn the basics. I've always loved soldering and such where would you go to take classes? Sorry for the long comment.
ОтветитьECE here yeh the doubt dont worry 😂 it is pain absolute pain
ОтветитьBro wtf im gonna kms
ОтветитьThis is the second time I've heard there's a lot of data processing in Excel in engineering jobs. What is it it's used so much for? I'm a semester from starting the engineering program, and this is the most out of left field thing I've heard about it.
Ответитьthank you so much man, im taking engineering design and development mext year, along side its course capstone for my senior year, the capstone is an internship so im very excited to go into it
ОтветитьWow amazing ! You explained so many things in just a short amount of time !
ОтветитьI came on this video since I've always been interested in engineering I'm only 12 but I'm just thinking about what to do in college
ОтветитьI am currently a Senior in high school, and I was interested in learning what mechnacial engineering is all about. As a young boy, I loved to build legos and disassemble house hold items just to put them back together. I came across this video at a great moment since I am currently trying to figure out if mehcnaical engineering is for me. I love working with mathematics and everything seems to tell me that this career is for me. However, I am a little scared or nervous. I hope everything goes well.
ОтветитьHii I am a student from Pakistan and done with grade 12 now I am really confused to chose which career path I want to be in.
I always wanted to take computer science in 11st year but in under developed cities we don’t have a lot of scope for computer so I was compelled to take pre medical. I have always been interested in computer but I never got a chance to try it but now I am really confused that should I be choosing medical or computer coz there’s everyone telling me to be in medical

Hey Tamer, as someone just entering engineering I have a question. My goal is to do optical engineering but I'm not sure if it would be better for me to do mechanical or electrical engineering as my major. I just wanted to get your opinion on this.
ОтветитьGod bless you🙏🏾 the Lord loves you and died for our sins that we might have salvation if we follow him faithfully 🥰 you're beautiful choose and commit to Him and he'll guide you in your life and career
ОтветитьI'm a university/college freshman as of August 2023. I'm currently a math major because I've always been good at math and I really enjoy doing it. I chose math because I want to be a teacher. Don't get me wrong, I still want to be a teacher, but I've been thinking about other fields that require math. I've never necessarily been interested in engineering in particular (never been one of those people who's like, building is life lol), but I'm debating on whether or not I want to change my major to engineering. I don't know too much about it, so I'm kind of hesitant to change my major.
