Everybody that owns a DaVinci knows this company is an absolute joke... They shouldn't even be allowed to use the name of one of the greatest inventors and artists the world has ever seen

I could never complete a 3D-printout with this machine. The filament stucks in the dispenser, the feeder cuts the filament, the printer stops dispensing and turns empty figures in the air. So it's true, Da Vinci Jr. 3D printer is not junior at all, it's crap !!!

Do you actually know anything about 3D printing? .. Because if the base of the thing your trying to print is small so would struggle to stay stuck on any base you can add a brim to it via XYZ software which helps in stay attached and using it will give you more problems getting off than it moving. I have one of these printers and it's an excellent first 3D printer to learn how to use them and that is the fundamental idea behind this printer. .... To those who have been put off buying this by this review take it from me if your a complete novice don't spend a fortune on your first 3D printer it's not as easy as you may think.... Oh and as for the propriety reels it's only a small printer so they last for ages I got mine with 2 reels a year ago printed loads of stuff and still have most of a reel left.

Just got this printer and it was working good for a week but now I keep getting an error message that reads; "SD card error". Looked up online how to resolve it but nobody seems to have a good solution and apparently this is common with the davinci printers. But if anyone else had this problem please let me know how you fixed it if you managed to!

@epicrandomguy. its not the spool that is the problem, its the actual filament. the filament is propriety(a special blend). you could probaly get around this with a more suitable nozzle, heating bed and careful attention to nozzle temp. I guess you just gotta have a feeling for how you machine works and experiment.

Why cant you feed in third party filament while leaving the original spool the printer? Would that work?

ty for an honest review. i would have hated buying this printer and find out that i cant buy just any others filament. i would have purchased this item on the spot, but now that i see that the 3D printer market is getting like the inkjet market and making their OWN filament propriety- bad form old chap. bad form indeed.

Instead of using the sheet included and paper glue i recommend you to replace it with teflon bakin paper. The teflon itself has several advantages compared to the glue and sheet included. its a nonstick plastic which means the pieces comes of easy when removing them. It also has a long lifespan compared to the tape and when you have to replace the tape it sometimes stick to hard to the printer bed which leaves you with tiny shreds of tape to remove, the teflon doesn`t do this. just cut a 15x15 sheet and glue it with paper glue to the bed make sure it´s glued tightly to the bed. And i know some of you will question me about the teflon being a low friction material don´t worry about your objects falling of the printer bed during the printing the bakin paper is sometimes perforated with tiny bubbles which causes your object to stay on the bed during the process.

I also recommend raising the z- value between 1-3 tenths the first times i printed it ripped through my tape every time i printed i don´t know why it isn´t preset to compensate for the tape included.

This are only tips I recommend to maximize this incredible little machine.
