EOS webcam Utility is so buggy.. works about 30% of the time

I use an A7 III (w/28mm f2 lens) for meetings and it charges through the same USB-C cable that sends the image. Needing external power is a major oversight by Canon. That's too bad.

Great video and thank you. I am shooting an interview for a client and we are doing a Zoom call, I was looking for the best way to set my client up for the shoot. Running the interview through the Blackmagic Mini Pro ISO so this setup will work perfectly!

Gave it a thumbs up. This video was super promising and I really appreciate it. Unfortunately it doesn't work for our staff with our M1 macs. REALLY hoping Canon updates their EOS Webcam Utility soon.

So when using my Canon Rebel T6, the Web Cam Utility drops the resolution from 1080p to 540p. I'm curious if the Web Cam Utility drops resolution on new Canons like the EOS RP.

Quick question. I want to get the EOS RP, but I want to know is an old tamron 28-75mm f2.8 will work with the adapter?

I having been looking to up my webcam game with a real camera. On my list are the Canon EOS M50, the Sony ZV-e10, Sony A6400. But now I am wondering if I should add this camera to my list. So how much better will videos look with the EOS RP vs the EOS M50?
I have to say the camera looks great in this demonstration. I have my own business and I have to present on a weekly basis so I figure its worth it to look more professional.

Hey Gene! Great video. I'm having an issue though... My camera is detected and works perfectly in Utility but once I try to use it with Zoom, it is not detected... Any recommendations? I've gone through the usual, making sure everything is up to date, uninstalling/reinstalling etc. Thanks!

I live stream using the EOS R and i’m using CLOG with view assist which looks okay but obviously not perfect. Is there a way to get Clog footage and still have a normal color grade on the footage as i’m live streaming? I need to use Clog because of editing in post. Thanks

So I'm really confused I've tried doing this exact same thing three different times and I've spent hours trying to get my camera to actually work as a webcam, but I never seem to get it to work. You plugged your camera in and didn't really show how it installs or anything or what the interface looks like... For me it only allows me to do remote shooting.. I have no idea how to use it as an actual webcam.

Good day Gene, have you found a good articulating arm that can easily take the weight of a Canon RP + Tamron 24-70mm 2.8? Something that can clamp to a desk like the Blue Compass does for the Yeti X.

Canon DSLR needs to allow for its on wifi plan, or partner with a phone company to use their wifi towers and allow for the camera to connect to social media apps so we can go live on the go. Id gladly pay $1000.00

If you shoot a video with the battery power adapter on a Canon camera, does it still have the 30mins cap or you can continue to shoot without having to check the camera at all?

I tried live streaming with my eos 6d mark ii and I couldn’t use auto focus because the white box-ish thing would not go away. Does this happen with eos rp too? Or are u using auto focus
