Girl I was saying this to my mom the other day. As far as I know America is the only country like has hoa's and likes to tell people what to do with their own property. Honestly just put in your own in unit washer and dryer. Don't let them control what you do with your own home that you pay for. It's not like you're renting and have a rental office to deal with. Obviously get any permits and stuff if needed, so everything is legal and have it done professionally but just do what you want and enjoy your new home. Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

You were firm but professional and factual, nothing you said was out of line and you were very polite given the circumstances. You had every right to stand up for yourself and put your foot down, especially if you're paying HOA fees! I hope they resolve this for you soon.

Not a Karen!!! That was a very professional email. You pay HOA dues and they have responsibilities to you and other owners. Is it a Board of unit owners or a paid management company you’re dealing with? If your email fails to get results get other owners in your building to unite and demand action. You are an OWNER!!! Not a tenant!

Keegan, you were so polite. That definitely wasn't Karen mode. Lol I know Karen mode as I work for a hospital system and have argue with insurance companies when they don't want to pay the bills...I promise I have had to jump in Karen mode a few times. You were understanding and firm with documentation..definitely not Karen. Glad you are speaking up for yourself and advocating for you and holding the HOA responsible considering you pay HOA fees on top of your mortgage.

I would be asking for compensation in your HOA fees. Part of your fees goes to maintenance and use of building amenities and they're not providing that.

I don’t know if they have these in your area, but I used to do morning workout classes and I went to to either Barry’s or SoulCycle. The studios I went to had thr best shower set up with towels, soap, shampoo, and conditioner. It might help to try one of those in the morning because you can go in later and shower without having to go back to your apartment. Barry’s also has protein shakes that they’ll make for yiu after class so then you don’t have to worry about breakfast!
