How to Set Certain Contacts to Ring on Silent Android

To be honest, this is not helpful because it's NOT silent mode.
It's DND.
That's a different feature.
I was looking for an option whereby certain contacts could override silent mode by making sound (so without blocking any calls).

This is not for Silent Mode it is for Do Not Disturb. These settings are useless for Silent Mode and will not help AT ALL when your phone is on Silent.

Total waste of time thanks to the misleading title! I need vibration for most alerts and sound for calls when I have my phone in vibrate mode or silence for everything but calls in silent mode. DND is for when you don't want notifications AT ALL, and is not a mode I want my phone in permanently just for peace and quiet when I don't want sounds outside ringing.

This is only do not disturb mode I want to know how to make someone ring even when my volume is turned down

Silent Mode and Do Not Disturb are two completely different modes, the configuration you show for Do Not Disturb does Not apply to silent mode...

What on earth? All I want to do is put all sounds on vibrate except for certain contacts and not on disturb mode. Who tf uses do not disturb mode anyway!?? I like keeping notifications on vibrate but I want certain notifications to make sounds. Another damn thing about phones is, why can't you adjust the brightness of your flash while taking photos yet???

I found a solution!! If you hold down on the "Sound" icon that turns on silent mode, you can then set the Ringtone and Notification Sound as "Silent". This essentially makes your Sound mode a Silent mode for all contacts and notifications. Next, if you go to edit the contacts that you want to come through, you can give them an actual ringtone or vibration.

This workaround lets the contacts of your choice sound come through but everything else will be silent. You could also go the routines route like some other comments have mentioned.
