Bananas are not native food. So the native wildlife don’t eat it. As it degrades it smells stronger until they finally decide to give it a go. It may have taken the inclusion of native fruit ie apples to get them to the site first before they could smell the bananas.

Perhaps the bananas started to ferment.

I put spread it out some apples because they were starting to go bad so I put them out there for the deer the next morning when I got up all them apples sewers only three of them left. I know they enjoyed them and two days later the other three was gone, I also put cereal out there for them, but I can’t eat it. Make sure it’s a good cereal. It won’t be hurting them in anyway.

Banana peels are basically a natural pesticide. Even monkeys won’t eat the peel. Try opening them up more! Great video

Maybe the bananas are similar to some other fruit in the area. Are those PawPaw trees growing there? Looks like it. If so, PawPaw fruit tastes a lot like banana.

Please, next time place the fruit on a tarp or covering so dirt doesn't get mixed in with the food.

Once fruit starts to rot or break down it goes through changes that has yeast in it and the animals will get a buzz off of it. Seen a lot of this around orchards that the animals tend to go for the old rotten fruit. It's weird but according to what I understand that they can digest the old fruits better.

Those animals are going to be bummed when the food dries up.

Did you research if bananas are ok to eat by the different types of wildlife? After all, grapes and onions are very dangerous for canines and felines. Avocado peels are also dangerous. Never assume thatfood for primates iike us is ok for other animal families
