I own several JHS MIAB’s, and the Charlie Brown v4 is one of my all-time favorites. So when Josh advises trying out the Tech21, I’ll do it. Agree on all points, the Fuzzy Brit is killer.
ОтветитьThese all sound kinda bad?
ОтветитьI had a screaming blonde 17 years ago that cost me a lot of money. This one looks pretty low maintenance. I might have to get one.
ОтветитьGreat demo.
But when you said you were running through a Kemper my stomach turned. Sorry.
They sound great. But, for me, to use them as preamps for FOH use there needs to be a way to insert delay/rvb/modulation either between the Screamer and the preamp, or after the preamp before the XLR
ОтветитьDidn't see you did this live awhile ago. I'm a big Tech 21 fan. Bought two used PSA 1 rack preamps back in high school and used them exclusively back then. These days, I'm running one of their custom shop Blonde pedal/preamp. It's really cool because it's got six channels and it's own effects loop, and lots of plug options. I also have their Double Drive which lets you cascade Class A distortion into Class A/B distortion.
Really hope you cover them more!
I don't understand the lacks of effects : what's the point of telling you have all you need with those units, whereas you still have to carry a Strymon Flint in order to have the minimum package requested by a bluesman ! Come on, put at least a reverb in it !!!!!
ОтветитьI’m a fan of your guitar playing. You are a genius
ОтветитьTech 21 deep dive yes please!
ОтветитьI buy nothing that is DSP; nothing. These Tech 21 are wonderful. I play a real 1975 Hiwatt Custom 50, among some others. It can have beautiful cleans with 'buckers, P90s and Fender singlecoils. I own, use and love my JHS pedals. BTW, Josh is one amazing young man. He has won my trust long ago. Josh should do a take-over of Tech 21.
ОтветитьPlaying triac for 15 years now. Most versatile pedal you can imagine. And extremely practcal. Glad they revived this direction
ОтветитьDo they have effects loop for reverbs and delays ?
ОтветитьPlease interview Tech 21 NYC!! I've used their gear and played fly rig gigs with Excellent success!! Great video😎
ОтветитьDid Josh say. How the reverbs and delays are introduced in the rig?
ОтветитьI see the “Daily Stoic” back there…..killer daily read. Bought a copy for each of my daughters. Unparalleled wisdom.
ОтветитьI hate that you cant decouple the speaker sim, yeah its part of the eq circuit tailored to the amp model but its so last century that its unappealing to anyone who wants more flexibility
ОтветитьBilly Corgan wants his guitar back. Well it isn't his signature but hey. Can you please get WPC on the show.
Ответитьwhat would happen if you put the new guv'ner in front of the screaming blonde I wonder
ОтветитьGod I love this channel. Almost the only good demos.
Ответитьwhy have josh such a thing everything he touch i wanna try or buy😂😂 that’s a dangerous place here
Ответитьstill have my trademark 10. Was pricey for a little practice amp but it sounds great
ОтветитьNow that I know I can haul this pedal in the pocket of my Jeans.....I'm ready for the Gig! Thanks Josh.
ОтветитьDistortion seems really harsh to me.
ОтветитьSusumu Tamura is the designer of the Tube Screamer. And lol just realised this is a month old. (I was on tour so missed it)
ОтветитьI recently started using my T21 Liverpool pedal in conjunction with the CAB M from Two Notes, it's an awesome combo. (pun intended)
ОтветитьI'm gigging at the mo with just a Tech 21 flyrig, a Mini ODR & Mini Ego comp leaving my Tone King & Boogie amps at home. In isolated shootouts the tech 21 amp sim might not be as good at nailing this or that specific amp compared to a kemper et al but in a live band situation it beats every other "DI into PA" solution I've tried. The sansamp circuit handles pedals just like a tube amp too. Really great gear for so many reasons if you are gigging
ОтветитьI had a Tech 21 Blonde Deluxe as my "amp" for years. This was the analog Blonde pedal but with a digital preset saving and switching. I could save 6 presets. These pedals are awesome and sound great, and having the onboard boost/fuzz/drive is killer. The only thing that my old Blonde Deluxe had that this doesn't is an effects loop, so I could still use the XLR output to the FOH, but have my delays and reverbs in the chain after the amp.
ОтветитьTech 21 flyrig 5 is my gig amp...Sansamp has it nailed
ОтветитьI like the idea of this pedal series, but I wish they’d given the option to turn off the speaker sim like in the standard character series
ОтветитьWhy didn't you play through the Vox model?
ОтветитьEven the Darkglass pedals are based on the sansamp circuit. I bought one the first B3K prototypes pedals directly from the owner/designer when he worked alone on his aparment ..and remeber saing to him " it sound very similar to sansamp" and he replieded " yes, actually that is the design where I inspired to take as a base to develop my own circuit".
I love my vt bass , SH1, RK5 and 2112DI from tech 21. sansam technology 🤯🤯🙌🏻
I got a Tech 21 SansAmp Character Series VT Bass Pedal V2 for recording bass in my studio. Worked 2 years, then stopped. Was then deemed unrepairable. Never. Again.
ОтветитьThe other night I played a wedding with my Fly Rig V2, drunk guests were walking all over my gear with stilettos 👠, try doing that with a touchscreen pedalboard. The Delay sounds amazing
ОтветитьI'd love to see a Tech21 history also. Since I got my first GT-2 in the 90s Tech21 is my favorite pedal company. With these Character Plus Pedals I will wait for V2, hoping it will have a tuner included.I do have the original Blonde Pedal from the earlier Character Series and it is awesome.
ОтветитьHonestly, I miss the live shows with live music (not a drum machine) ❤
ОтветитьI’m curious if anyone has compared these to a Strymon Iridium? I pretty much only use the Vox style amp with custom IRs on the Iridium and I’m interested in the Liverpool Mop Top.
Also does anyone know how well these Tech21 pedals take pedals going into them?
Tech21-NYC has always been awesome IMO. Great content Josh! Cheers!
ОтветитьBe nice if they did a few bass specific models too.
ОтветитьÍve had a triac, flyrig rk5 and now I use the RK5 v2 that’s basically has the features that I was missing from the first version. What to say, plug and play.
ОтветитьTech 21 SansAmp episode. Please & Thank you
ОтветитьYes, I agree. The world needs a mute button!
Ответитьso cool. Just wish there was an insert point before the boost/screamer so you could add chorus, delay and send out through the DI. Still great, but hard to use the boost into mod pedals
Ответитьwhy blonde and not blackface/silverface? does anyone actually like the fender tweeds?
ОтветитьProbably would have been better served if you had used a normal guitar, like a Strat, Tele, Les Paul, SG, etc instead of that hipster guitar. Don't get me wrong. It's a nice guitar but most of us aren't going to be familiar with its characteristics and how it affects the tone of the differing Sans Amps.
ОтветитьWHERE IS THE CANADIAN PERCOLATOR?!!
ОтветитьThe only thing that could make this a more authentic JHS video, is if tech 21 decided to hike up the prices right after the release of this video! 🤣
ОтветитьGreat episode! Been waiting for this one ...🖤🖤🖤
ОтветитьI have a Line 6 HX Stomp, and I’ve set up many bass patches in it using various amp models, and just recently determined that the SansAmp bass driver DI model in it is pretty much the perfect tone.
ОтветитьI have to hand it to Tech21, which is why I bothered to look at this vid, and JHS doing the vid.
As a Bassist, I found the SansAmp a really really great PreAmp making great tone for bassists.
First time I heard the Bass Product, I was past experienced with the Yamaha PB1 (a Bass Pre that beats the Neve Preamp, but is notoriously heavy, and a great road survivor) and was then using GenzBenz (what I ended with).
SansAmp tone was able to make me jealous. It was seriously that good, and I believe that I have seen a Pro traveling with a Tech 21 and doing an arena with the provided SVT's (blah) which the SansAmp actually make sound exceptional.
This looks like the Perfect Line against the Digital Snobs, and then the Perfect Line against the Amp Snobs. Guitarists no longer have to listen to the Snob Noise.
I had a PSA 1.1 many years ago, and recently discovered the PSA 2.0 which sounds just as good as I remember. Only thing missing is XLR out IMO.
PSA 2.0 would have been good in this vid IMO
