28(A+B) = 35(B+C) = 20(A+C) = total work = time x efficiency, where A,B and C are efficiencies.

LCM of (28,35,20) = 140

So, (A+B):(B+C):(C+A) = 5:4:7

Let A+B = 5k; B+C = 4k and C+A = 7k

By this, we get A-C = k

Then, (A-C) + (A+C) = 2A = 8k

So, A = 4k; B = k and C = 3k

Total work = 28(A+B) = 140k

Total efficiency of A,B and C = 8k

It is said that these three people will work consecutively starting from A on one day, B on the next day followed by C on the third day. This gets repeated until the work is done. We are asked to find out the total time taken.

Here, 140k/8k = 17 1/2

That means, these three people will do 17 rounds. For making 17 rounds, it takes (17 x 3 = 51) days.

We got that these three people can do the entire work in 17 1/2 days. That means after 17 days, work remained will be = time x efficiency = (1/2 x 8k) = 4k

Then, A will start àgain but efficiency of A is 4k. So, he will take one more day to finish the entire work.

Hence, total number of days = 52

Data Interpretation:
